Dear Yvonne,
Happy new year! Here comes another one that will be bigger and better than before because I have some big news! Emma's pregnant! We're having a baby! I can't believe it. Me, a father. We don't know if it's a girl or a boy yet, and I don't think we mind either way but when we find out, I'll make sure to tell you.
We're also house hunting now, since our flat's not really big enough to raise a kid. We're thinking about moving in the countryside a little more so we can go hiking and stuff when our child's old enough. I'm a little worried about the whole prospect but Emma's being the voice of reason, as she always is. I love her for it. We've been married for nearly two years now! Two! It feels like yesterday.
I guess I just wanted to write and thank you again for all the help you gave me. It feels weird that nearly 10 years ago, I was ready to throw myself off a building to escape. It seems so stupid now, especially with all the great things I have. I can't imagine being here if it wasn't for you so I've sent some flowers your way. I hope you like them,
Write back soon.
Ian
