Chapter 8: The Saddest End

Rose's POV

I looked down trembling, I was shaking so violently it felt like a million horses ran straight through me. My little sisters eyes were staring blankly, her arms limp. There was a knife straight through her back. Bright  red liquid drizzled down her spine. DJ was staring at her frozen in place. "LUNA!" was the last thing I said before I fainted.

DJ's POV

I looked up, my expression shifted from sympathy to Anger. I growled and turned my head to face 'It'. 

"You had it coming little boy!" she yelled with a grin.

"NOBODY, I SAID NOBODY MESSES WITH MY FAMILY!"

"I already have" she said laughing,"

I charged towards her and pulled my sword out, somehow I pulled out another. I jumped at "It", and again, somehow I flew through the air and sliced her head clean off.

"You think its that easy?" her head said 

"What the-?" I replied looking at my hands. Her head seemed to be floating back to her body, then it fused back.

"Mwahahaha! I'm invincible! nobody can sto-" her sentence was cut off by the sound of dragons, fire and swords. By the end she was just a pile of ashes.

I stood in place panting "Sometimes you can be wrong you know." I said to her ashes.

Rose's POV

I woke up to the sound of my brother saying "Wake up!"

"NOOO!" I screamed remembering Luna.

"Hey, hey! Shhh. It's ok," DJ said half crying. It was not ok, that was for sure. My sweet harmless little sister had just been killed right in front of my eyes. 

The realization set in.

She wasn't coming back.

I gritted my teeth and punched the wall. Leaving a hole somehow. This couldn't be it she couldn't be dead, but there she was lying limp on the ground. I slowly walked over tears falling from my eyes. I lifted her up and carried her back outside.

"There was nothing we could've done Rosie," DJ said comfortingly.

"Yes we could! This never would've happened if we hadn't been so careless, we shouldn't have killed that guy earlier and then Luna never would have seen us and never gotten mad!" I replied, realizing I was getting mad at then wrong person.

"No, no don't think like that, we were doing this for our family." He said.

"Our family is two people now!" I yelled. Firestorm growled. "Fine, two people and two dragons," 

Just then Luna's body began to shake and glow, it rose slowly into the air emitting a very high pitched sound that made the dragons cower. A shadowy copy of Luna's body seemed to be rising out of the physical one. Then it disappeared. 

"Did you just?.." DJ said astonished 

"Yes I did!" I said back. , my stomach was twisting into itself and my legs were barely holding me up anymore. But there seemed to be a presence, a very comforting presence telling me everything was going to be ok. I knew what this meant.

Luna would always be there to watch over us. And she would always care.
