Lexis POV:
As I reached my back door, I heard the sirens crystal clear. They were almost here.
I could stay, there's always a chance that...NO!
I couldn't, that would be selfish to Nick and Ella. I had to know that they're ok...they're all I have left.
I quickly darted from my backyard to the woods that were just beyond my yard.
Perfect.
I made my way into the woods and towards town. I ducked down and moved as silently as I could. No one had noticed me yet so I stood up a little straighter and started jogging. The woods were silent except for the soft beat of my feet against the ground and the occasional animals calling to one another.
I stared ahead as I fumbled around with the note in my coat pocket. Questions still flew through my head. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that a guy and his men have pretty much destroyed my entire family and don't forget to mention, my entire life ahead of me. Who knows what could happen?
As the thoughts of my future came and went, I saw the familiar skyscrapers signaling that I have arrived. I slowed down to a walk and casually exited the woods, hoping no one would question me. I walked near other people, blending in as best as I could. I came to a cross walk and waited for the little white man to appear so I could cross. I observed my surroundings.
There was a small hot dog stand not too far away, there were , of course, billboards and ads everywhere, and there were families, couples and just happy people in general everywhere. I felt a knot grow in my stomach as I watched a couple lift their child up between them.
The child laughed, making the parents smile. I didn't even notice that I was crying until a tear slipped down my cheek.
I quickly wiped it off and crossed the street. I passed a small market and made sure no one was watching me as I pulled out Z's note. I scanned the address again. It was close to the edge of town so I started hurrying there. I didn't notice until now that some people were giving me strange looks, probably because of the long sword strapped to my back. Like I care! All that was on my mind was the address and my siblings.

After about an hour of walking, I finally made it to the edge of town. I took the note out one more time and examined the address. It wasn't exactly a noticeable location...that's probably the point though.
I walked around and saw addresses super close to the one I was searching for. I was walking through a field of overgrown grass and small worn down houses. There weren't many of them, at least that were visible.
I walked back and forth looking for the specific address.
Where the eff is this place?
That's when I noticed a rather large dirt path.
How could I've missed that?!
I followed the path cautiously and prepared myself for any surprise. The path wound around trees and ponds and was quite long.
I ended up in another forest and in a clearing, there was a large torn up house made of wood. The roof was caving in on one side and the windows were all boarded up.
I slowly made my way towards the door shaking with every step. When I got there, I lightly knocked. After a little while of silence and no answer, I knocked again, a little harder this time. Again, no answer. I started to become impatient and tried opening the door. To my surprise, it opened.
Who the eff left the fricken door unlocked and didn't tell me? Assholes....
As I swung the door open, I expected to see someone, but instead I found another note.
Not another one...don't tell me I'm too late.
My stomach twisted itself into a knot as I picked up the note. It had a number on it along with my name. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my cellphone and punched in the number in front of me. After 2 rings the person picked up.
"Ah Lexi Hallows. Glad that you decided to join me." Z said into the phone. "Your brother and sister are fine, thanks to you. Now your first mission is..."

A/N:
Shorter chapter! I wanted to make it shorter so I could keep moving to the chapter where Jack and Finn are introduced! Yay!!! I'm sorry if the chapter was boring, I rushed this one a little more. I'll try to make the next one longer. Feedback and questions are appreciated!
