My Partner In Crime

2 years later

I watched the news flash pictures of a young woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. 'Woman found dead in her home. Police are still searching for evidence of the murderer.'

I turned off the TV and laid down. I stared at the blank ceiling above me.

I laid on the bed in the small apartment I was hiding/staying in. I had just finished another mission...yes I killed that lady on the news. I felt empty, like nothing was there. Over the past 2 years I've become so secretive...serious...and alone. I haven't smiled in so long. Sometimes I even think I forgot how to.

When I first started all this nonsense, I would cry every day and night. I watched myself hurt good people. The pain inside was far too great that it sucked the happiness out of me, and I eventually learned to show no emotion.

From then on it was mission, complete, mission, complete. I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if none of this happened. But I knew that there was no possible chance of that.

I closed my eyes and, like I do every night, hope and pray that this is all just a bad dream.

The next morning

I finished shoving my bags into my car and jumped into the drivers seat. Earlier this morning I received a call from Z. He told me my next mission was in London, England. Yet again, I had to kill someone. This 'someone' happens to be named Jack Harries. He lives in London and has a career on YouTube. YouTube...I haven't touched that site for ages. I sighed and started the car, and set off for the airport.

I really fricken hate security. There's just sooooo many people and I feel like they're all judging me. This time, though, it went smoothly. I hid my sword well enough that they didn't notice...talk about top notch security! I grabbed my bags and headed toward my gate. I was 45 minutes early. I sat down and decided to open my laptop and check out Jack Harries' files that Z sent to me. Luckily I was in the corner with no one around me, so no one knew what I was doing. I scanned over the files. He seemed to be quite an interesting person. I learned so much about him, from his birthday to his recent charity run called the Rickshaw Run. An image of him was attached to the files. I glanced over it a few times. He is pretty attractive.

I read over everything I needed to. He wasn't attending any university so I had to make a plan, a good plan. This wasn't going to be easy.

The lady on the intercom shattered my trance.

"Flight 409 to London England first class. Flight 409 to London England first class."

I can get through this. I've done this before.

I quickly shut my laptop down and secured it in my bag. I grabbed my stuff and headed to the line.

The flight wasn't as bad as the last time I flew. There were no kids kicking my chair and screaming and I didn't have to deal with an annoying attendant. Was luck finally on my side? Hahaha. No. When the plane landed, I found London to be quite beautiful. Everything was so different from America.

As I picked up my bags, I received a text from Z.

*Insert address* - Jack Harries address. Do not harm yet. Earn trust. Wait for order. Keep eye out for him. Another agent will meet up with you in London. He will slip you a note when you find him.

Underneath all of that was the information that I needed to stay covered. This time, Im Lexi Winter. Apparently, I live alone here in London, my parents died in a car crash, I already graduated from uni, and I'm living off my parents money. Oh and I also get to let my hair dye fade out back to my natural brown hair. I haven't seen my natural hair color in ages. Right now it's red, but it's starting to show my brown hair coming back.
