Brendon woke up to the blinding lights from his hospital room. He looked around to find himself in an absolutely spotless bed sheet, that smelt too clean for his liking, with a small set of drawer next to the bed he was in. He could see that there was a small bathroom opposite to the bed so he decided to freshen up as soon as he was comfortable with his surroundings.
He then walked out of the pristine bathroom and stopped when he saw a tall grey haired man, who he assumed was his doctor. He stood there waiting for a sign what to do until the man decided to say something.
"You must be Mr. Urie. I'm Dr. Morris and I will be taking care of you until you are ready to leave. Now do you remember anything before he arrived here?"
Brendon thought for a moment. He realised he must of collapsed again or else he would be here. He decided he didn't want to tell him, even thought he knew that he knows anyway, and shrugged his shoulders. Dr. Morris sighed at his response and began again.
"You were brought in by your parents at about 10.30 after you collapsed. I suspect that you still aren't eating properly even after all the warning that both your parents and doctors having been telling you. So what is going to happen is you can either try and eat properly or we will have no choice but send you-"
"No! I'm not going to that place! I'm not like the people who are in there, I'm not a psycho! You can't make me go!"Brendon started stepping away from him, starting to feel scare of the situation he is in. Going to a mental institution is the last thing he wants to happen, but he knows that him eating properly is never going to happen. Not after what had happened that is. He finally made eye contact with the doctor again, which made the man sigh.
"Look we both know that you're not going to change your ways so this is what's going to happen. Next week we are going to take you to the Vegas mental institution, which is a very good one for that matter, and depending on the progress you make is how long you will stay there. Have you got any questions?"
"No I guess not."
"I'm here if you want to talk okay?"With this he walked out of the white, aloe vera smelling room, leaving Brendon alone. He sensed that he would have a lot of time of his hands so he decided he would have a nap.
It was about 30 minutes when he heard a knock at his door. After a few seconds a bleach blonde nurse with way too much makeup on stepped inside the room.
"Dinner is going to be ready in 10 minutes so you can have your food in your room or you can go into the canteen and eat it in there. Which would you prefer?"
"Umm if you wouldn't mind I would like to have it in here, as I'm only going to be here a week so what's the point in socialising."
"Okay. I'll be back at 6.30."She gave a small smile to Brendon and left silently out the room. He glanced at the clock above the door, which read 6.15, so he decided to explore the room. He looked in the wooded wardrobe just to the side of his bed and looked inside. He was surprised to see that he had several sets of his clothes neatly hung up. He looked at the nightgown that the hospital provided and decided to change.
By this time, the nurse returned with a tray with a small plate of pizza and a glass of water. He shuddered at the thought of eating, and hesitantely took a small bite of a slice of pizza. The nurse left the room, which Brendon was thankful for as he feels uncomfortable with people watching him eat. He sighed after eating only one slice of pizza and decides he wasn't going to eat anymore. Brendon just hoped that the doctors and nurses won't make eat anymore as he was sick of being forced to eat.
After this mental debate about whether to finish his meal, he realised that it was already 8 so he decided he would have a walk around the hospital. He was surprised when he realised that they have locked his door so he had no way of getting out. He was confused as he thought he would be able to walk about as he isn't a danger to the other patients or to himself (well kind of). So instead he thought he would go back to sleep, as there wasn't really anything he could do at this time.
It took him a while to go to sleep thinking about moving into a mental institution and how long he will be there for. But had no idea about what is going to happen, but he knew that everything was going to change...
Kind of a short chapter but it's the first one ;) hopefully they get longer throughout the book.
