"Miss Helen," The teacher said to me. The class turned their attention to me. "Congratulation. Again, you have the best grades out of the whole 10th grade." Everyone groaned and sighed.
"To think," I heard from behind me."I studied so hard and she still beat me by a landslide." I turned to the back of the class to see Jacob sighing in disappointment. I looked down and turned back to the front of the class.
"The Principle would like to see you later today. Okay, Miss Helen?" The teacher said, giving me a slight smile. I nodded and looked at my book.
hey, they should be use to this by now, I thought.
"How do you do it?" Katy asked excitedly. She was my best friend; Well, more like my only friend. She had always been there for me and if anyone knows me best it's her. Everyone else didn't really see me as someone to "hangout" with....
"You always get the best grades," She continued. "Not to mention you're pretty, have major skills in mostly every art class and you can sing! I'm so jealous of you." She says getting even more hyper.
"I just do what I do." I replied to her, shrugging off all the compliments she gave me. She nudged me, smiling at me happily. I glanced at her and smiled back, to show her I was okay.
"I'm gonna' go to lunch, see you after school." She said. I nodded and, as she walked away, waved her to her.
"Now, to go to the office." I mumbled to myself and continued to walk.
I enetered the offfice room slowly. "Good Morning, Kristina." I heard from behind the front deak.
"Morning Mrs. Lane." I said. I went up to the desk and leaned over it. "I see it's not busy today, huh?".
"Yeah," She replied. "Ain't a bad thing though." She joked. I chuckled.
"How's Mr. Lane?" I asked.
"He's fine. He said hello." She said. I smiled.
"Tell him I said hello as well." She smiled at me and looked back down at her desk. "The principle wants you. Now, hurry along." She said, pointing to the door a few feet behind her. I nodded, walked to the door and opened it slowly.
"Mr. Larwence?" I said, peeking through the door.
"Ah, there she is." He said joyfully. I walked into the room, smiling. Then I noticed a boy leaning on the window behind Mr. Larwence's desk. He looked up at me, first seeming surpriced then giving me a mean and annoyed look. He had nice blue eyes and a very dark brown hair , but you could only see it's brown color in the sun, which was gelled up and moved from one one side of his face.
"Please sit. I'd like you to meet someone." Mr. Lawrence said. "This is my son, James," He explianed. "He'll be starting school here from now on. He is in the same grade as you and has the same classes as well so I would like you to take good care of him, please." I paused for a second then looked up at the son, He glared at me for a bit then turned his face in a different direction. I looked back at Mr. Lawrence then slowly lefted my hand, cleaned out my ear with my pinkie and put my ear in the his direction.
"You say what now?"
"Why'd you except?" James questioned me.
"Becuase he's the principle. Doing something good for him gives me a good reputation." I replied. He rolled his eyes.
"So this is only becuase of my father. Why am I not surprised." He said.
"Look, there's going to be more people like me, they're just going to be fake and pretend they really want to be your friend." I said. He glanced at me and smiled.
"How would you know that, princess?" He asked.
"I just do." I said rudely. He chuckled.
"You seem fun. I'm going to enjoy you." he mummbled.
"Excuse me!" I said, raising my voice a bit.
"Nothing." He replied with a big smile on his face.
"Oh yeah," I thought. "He's going to be a big problem."
