"There will be a science project that is due the 18th of May," Mr. Ivan, Our science teacher, said. "You will be working with a partner. This isn't going to be worked on at school, so you and your partner better have a good laptop at home." Everyone sighed. It was March already, so I could see why he'd want us to get it started but the partner thing was just unnecessary. I honestly hate working with others, they make me feel uncomfortable. Especially boys.
"I'll give the partners right now," He grabbed his book and flipped through it. "Listen for your names and your partners. I hope y'all get along." He began saying names. The first two people seemed disappointed, then the second a little joyful.
"Hey, Princess," I heard from my right. "What?" I sternly said to James. "You wanna' bet me and you are gonna' be partners." He chuckled then gave me a smirk. I rolled my eyes.
He's right, I thought. We're gonna be partners. We have to be. I looked over at him. He stared at me with this smug look.
Whoa, I thought. He looks pretty good today. I mean, he doesn't look like his jackass-y self. I guess I didn't notice until now. James wore a black jacket with nice dark blue jeans. The blue shirt he had on underneath his jacket made his eyes sparkle, somehow, and the brand named sneakers he had on made the outfit go together (Only because of the black that matched the jacket). Today He didn't look much like a Playboy. It was a nice and refreshing change. He looked... not annoying.
"Having fun checkin' me out?" He said, beaming with satisfaction.
Was this what he was going for?, I thought. I turned my head back to the front.
"As if," I said. "I'd never check you out. You’re not even that attractive." He chuckled once more.
I'm such a lair but whatever, I thought. I mean it's not like I like him. He just has some looks that would make a girl look twice.
"Kristine and James," Mr. Ivan said. "You two are partners." Everyone whispered and looked at us. It was obvious that everyone knew about us not Seeing Eye to eye. Even the teacher seems to see the tension between us.
"Yes, Mr. Ivan," James said smiling. He looked at me. "I'll work with Kristine."
"Soooooo," James leaned on his locker, which, now, was right next to mine. There was no getting away from this guy. "When are we gonna' hook up for this project?”
"If you mean when we are going to work on it, we got two months. I can do it all by myself. You don't need to help; I'll do it and put our names on it." He sighed then smiled.
"You really don't like me, huh?" My eye twitched at his words.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I thought. You kissed me! My first! You should be happy that I'm still talking to you like a regular person then kicking your ass! I opened my locker, trying my best to ignore his ignorance.
"I know much about science. I'm not stupid because I don't know stuff. I'm stupid because I don't do work." I rolled my eyes, grabbing my history folder from my top self.
"Whatever, James," I said, giving in to the nonsense. I just wanted to let him think he's on top. I realized when he thinks he has no tricks to play and gets what he wants, he'll leave you alone.
"I'll come over this weekend. I'll give your dad my number and he or your mom can call me. Not you." He frowned. I seem to have hit a sensitive spot. He sighed then looked up at me and grabbed my folder.
"Hey!" I said. "I'll just give you my address right now. Come over Friday." Something seemed to have shot through his thought because he suddenly smiled and chuckled. "You could stay the night. My bed is big enough for two." I rolled my eyes and grabbed my folder.
"Just give me the address later." I said. He smiled and leaned in towards me.
Is he trying this again!? I thought. I stopped him in his track by putting my palm on the middle of his forehead. He froze. We both stared at each other, him looking unsatisfied. I chuckled.
"No more." I said. "No more with your games. This is the closes I'll let you come to me." He smiled and I narrowed my eyes. "You have so many other girls yet you kiss me. Just stop with the games." He chuckled.
"Those girls are just my fun." He said. "Honestly, you're my main one. You’re like a games and I'm eager to win the prize." He leaned back; giving me one last smile, then turned around and began to walk away.
A game, huh?, I thought. Well, I promise you, this game will be the first one you'll ever lose.
"You guys are so cute!" I heard from behind me. I looked over and saw Katy. She had dyed hair. She was now a strawberry blonde. This was a natural thing. She would always dye her hair.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"You know what I mean!" She said eagerly. "You and James are adorable!! I gotta write a story about this!" She opened her locker, took out a book and began writing. "I got the basics already, this'll be great." She looked at me and smiled. "Kristine," She said. "We both know you'll fall into the trap like you always do, Just be careful with this one." I gave her a blank look. "What does she mean?" I thought. She giggled at my expression and skipped away.
That was strange, I thought.
What is she up to?
A/N: Okayyyy, Updated today. Thinking about a doing a double next time.
Wondering if anybody can make covers for stories? I know I have one already but I'd like a better one.
And If y'all have any cast ideas, please do tell. ^v^
Hope you like
