Saraphina;
I walked out into the streets, walking as fast as I could. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! You could've gotten yourself killed! Stupid! I kept telling myself as I dashed across the empty streets.I removed the bloodied bandage as soon as I thought I was out of sight, it was useless. Leam had fixed it already. He must be a healer. He had saved my life with his abilities. The stab wounds in my side were gone, and so was the slash across my face. Leaving not even a scar to remember the wound.
I tried to run at a steady pace, but that is hard when you're trying not to panic. He was probably captured or killed, and it was all my fault.
He followed me because I was defenceless if something were to have happened. And wouldn't you know it, something did happen. Now I'm walking in the dark, hoping that Alice or Allen find me.
I usually have to fight myself not to say there real name out loud. Sometimes I even remind myself that my name is no longer Alex, it's Saraphina. If I say it's Alex, then there will be hell to pay. Alex died with her mother, her father, and her brother.
I was jumpy, too jumpy. I must've looked more suspicious then a guy holding a knife, covered in blood.
Hurry, hurry, hurry. Rush, rush, rush, is what the rain seemed to say as I tried to run home.
Charon needed me, I left him. What kind of person was I? I'm weak and useless. That's what kind of person I am.
I kept a close eye on my surroundings. For a town famous for it's night life, it seems very still now. Not a car was out during this horrible storm.
Except for me and the car that was slowly progressing behind me. My heart pounded hard inside my chest, I was afraid that someone could hear it.
The water around my feet blew away leaving a size 8 woman's shoe dry spots on the pavement. I was panicking. I needed to calm down. "Breathe," I reminded myself.
The car slowly stopped, I fought the urge to turn around. They would surely attack if I look. Please don't be who I think you are. I begged even though I had no clue who I was begging to.
My skin crawled as the car stopped suddenly. I braced myself to fight or fly. Literally, I could feel my body becoming lighter as my panic grew.
Stop it! I yelled at myself. I knew I was putting myself in danger, but my body wouldn't listen. I wanted to cry. I was about to be captured, and no one will really be looking for me. Even if they did, they would never find me.
The car stopped, and my heart stopped along with it. This is it, fight or fly. The problem was that even though my body was light enough to be a balloon, it still wasn't enough to get my feet off the ground, not with out a running start.
I heard the car door open and shut. Heavy footsteps soon followed. I sped up my walk. "Excuse-" I didn't let him finish. I ran. "Wait! Alex!" shouted a much younger voice. I turned to see my brother, Allen.
My relief gave my heart the will to beat again. My sister opened the back seat door. "Where have you been? We've been searching everywhere! What happened? You look horrible!" she yelled at me as I jumped into the passenger side of the car.
My brother hopped in and immediately shifted into a 26 year old man. To match the fake driver's license and ID Sam made him.
I hated to see him looking older. He looked too much like Brandon, our older brother.
I didn't even get a chance to buckle up before they cascaded me with questions. "Where have you been?" Alice ( Saphira) asked. "So much has happened! First Charon, we where afraid that you were captured!" Allen ( Shifter) said.
