Chapter eleven

Maryam that was sitting across from tasneem in the school library, looked up and spoke in a hushed tone "You know i think your guy... i mean abdulazeez will be doing you kulle in the future since....."

"Maryam!" Tasneem cut her off "Oh lord! Don't you get tired of talking at all?"

Maryam ignored her and continued "Hey, I don't believe you, who knows you two are even dating secretly?"

"Maryam!" Tasneem said through gritted teeth "Please enough, if you don't want to kill me right this minute... you know what? lets get out of here, i can't even read right now"

"Because i reminded you of him?"

"Ya salam! Maryam you will surely be the end of me"

"Speak of the devil... he's here, look behind you" Maryam said, looking behind tasneem.

"Maryam" Tasneem said irritatedly.

"I'm serious, just look behind you.. omg! he's walking towards here"

Tasneem started to pack her books "Maryam you're giving me a bad headache already, can you just put a sock in it? How can he be here? Ya Salam!...."

She abruptly stopped, when her doe-like eyes landed on him but quickly averted her gaze.

Maryam was saying the truth? Crap!

"Salamu alaikum!" He said, pulled a chair next to maryam and settled down.

"Wa alaikumussalam" Maryam answered as tasneem was still not over the shock.

"How are you guys? And school?"

"Fine Alhamdulillah" Replied Maryam.

Tasneem's eyes slowly moved to him again. He was casually dressed in a black t shirt and camouflage sweatpants.

Their eyes suddenly locked and she averted her gaze again.

"Congratulations on your graduation" Maryam congratulated him.

"Thank you!" He smiled broadly "Are you guys leaving?"

Maryam nodded "Yes we are"

She helped tasneem packed her remaining books before they all walked out. Tasneem was vexed again, he had the audacity to come to them without even giving a hoot to say 'Hi' to her or apologize again. How rude!

Wait! What does she even care? Well.. she doesn't give a damn too!

Abdulazeez continued to converse with Maryam almost inaudibly until tasneem decided to intrude.

"I'm leaving now, its almost asr"

"No, I'm going to drop you because we're leaving together" Maryam said with raised eyebrows.

"No you shouldn't bother, I don't want to waste your time really, i will just go"

Maryam moved closer and whispered "I will go but of course thats only because Abdulazeez is here, i know he'd handle things perfectly"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what i mean, he's going to apologize and you guys are going to be frie...."

"Bye maryam, extend my warm greetings to umma and all" Tasneem cut her off.

With a devilish smile, Maryam turned to Abdulazeez and bid him goodbye before she hopped into her car and zoomed off.

Tasneem started to walk when Abdulazeez quickly blocked her way "Are you still angry with me?"

She stared at him for a moment before she moved to the other side and started waking again.
