Catherine

Normally, music was mildly bearable, but today it was actually tolerable and almost enjoyable. Now that know-it-all was gone, it actually gave the rest of us the chance to answer. Nobody did, but the silence was still nice. Maybe our grades might actually go up now that everyone actually has a chance to answer, I thought. It was completely her fault that we had terrible grades, because she intimidated us into not studying...and none of us never raised our hands because we knew she would...It was still her fault.
We'd just started singing the beginning of "My Country 'tis of Thee" when the teacher realized we were short one loud-spoken soprano.
"Elizabeth has been gone for a long time. Catherine, would you mind going to see if she's alright?" Everyone groaned.
"Can't we just let her stay out there?" The cute guy in the class said.
"Eric!" The teacher scolded. "If she goes missing, the school could be under lawsuit. Besides, I'm sure you don't mean that. I'm sure you'd be very disappointed if Elizabeth would ever disappear."
"Nope," Said Eric. "The silence is fairly enjoyable."
"Admit it," The other cute guy said, "You enjoy the quiet." Everybody spoke out in agreement, voicing their own opinions of what they thought of our dear classmate.
"That's enough!" The teacher nearly shouted. "Eric, James, say anything else rude about her and you'll both earn a detention." Teachers always did this. She was the pet of the class. Straight A's, always raising her hand. Teachers never admitted to having favorites, but it was fairly obvious that she was theirs. "Catherine, if you could please go see if Elizabeth is alright? If you don't find her within five minutes, please come back and I'll call the front desk."
I reluctantly got out of my seat. At least I'm missing five minutes of class, I thought bitterly.
I stepped out into the hallway and stomped up the stairs. Why am I always the one who gets dragged down with her? I thought angrily. The vice principle forces her to be my tutor, I don't understand anything she tries to teach me. I have to pick her for my team in baseball, stupid last person rule, and my entire team turns on me for having no choice to pick her and since everyone's getting so mad at her, and we lose. We get put together as project partners, she forces me to do some of the work! Doesn't she know that the nerd has to do all the work while their partner goes out and has fun? She just doesn't get it. Now I have to go out and look for her. She just had to get sick. So inconsiderate.
I made my was towards the bathroom. "Elizabeth?" I called. "Come on. You're missing class, and I'm missing out on notes from Eric." No answer. Okay, she's not in the bathroom. I thought as I walked back out into the hallway. Then I noticed something. My painting I'd won an award for was on the wall, but it was upside down. That's funny, I thought as I went to get a closer look. The bottom of the frame was cracked as if it had landed on the floor. I rolled my eyes. Stupid janitor. I thought. He must've knocked it over and put it back up wrong.
"Elizabeth!" I called. "This really isn't funny, come on!" No answer at all. I pulled my phone out of my pocket. Eight minutes had gone by and I still hadn't found her. I was supposed to go back to the classroom but for some reason I didn't want to go back. Maybe because if I went back, we'd have a possible amber alert on our hands, and she looked fairly sick. Why am I worried about her? I forced myself to think. She's a... she's a nerd. Why did I feel so bad?
"Isn't this where Rachel said she'd be?" A voice said. It was a boy's voice, sounding a bit frantic and fairly squeaky.
"Yeah, right here at this precise time." Another voice answered. This time it was a girl, and she sounded a little calmer.
"So where is she?" The boy said.
"What makes you think I know?" The girl said, getting a bit annoyed.
"You're the smart sibling."
"You're the planning guy."
I snuck around the corner and saw to arguing teenagers, the first one looked about twelve or thirteen, and the other one looked about sixteen. They both had light brown skin, bright blue eyes, and dark brown hair. The boy had his short brown hair pulled into a ponytail. He wore a blue vest with white trim and brown pants and boots. The girl had her hair in a braid with two locks of hair circling the side of her face. Her dress was also blue with white trim and she also wore brown boots. Around her neck was a necklace with a light blue stone. They weren't really the most fashionable people I'd ever seen, but I didn't think I'd ever actually seen them at all before.
"Ahem." I said. "Who are you?"  The two siblings turned to face me.
"Uh oh," the girl said. The boy, however, seemed delighted to see me.
"You must be Elizabeth Duke. You obviously remember me and my sister Katara-"
"Sokka!" Katara said. "That isn't her...are you?"
"No." I answered. "I was sent to look for her. Do you know where she is?" Katara shook her head.
"Oh boy." Sokka said, realizing his mistake. "We were sent here to find her. Rachel said we'd find her here and Hermione told us it would be about this time."
"Shut up!" Katara said. "You're giving away too much!"
"Look, can you just tell me where my friend is?" Sokka tried to stifle his laughter.
"You're Elizabeth's 'friend'? That's impossible!" He said.
"How is it impossible?"
"Classified." Katara said. "You wouldn't understand either way."
"Tell me how I wouldn't understand." I practically yelled.
Katara sighed. "Well, we've already explained too much. Come on."
"Where?" I asked.
"Not telling." Katara said sternly. "She does that a lot." Sokka whispered. "You get used to it." Katara shot him a look. "Come on." She said. "Is there a fireplace around here somewhere?"

So  that was Catherine. If you don't like her, don't worry she gets better. But I won't say how.

I hope you guys like it so far. Sorry I haven't written for such a long time. Senior Year is kicking my ass and I'm also in two plays (side note, guess who's playing Mother Superior in our school production of Sister Act...MEEEEEEE!!!)

I hope you guys like it.
