When you start feeling strange things

It was just an ordinairy day at hogwarts. All the marauders were in class, listening to professor binns ramble on about goblin rebellions. The story as lifeless as the teacher, the students minds started wandering off.

Among those wandering minds was Sirius'. Looking at his fellow marauders, he noticed Peter was looking paler than normal. James on the other hand was looking a little red. Sirius turned his head to where James was looking. Of course, he thought. That explains the redness. James was staring at the back Lilly's long red hair.

Remus was secretly nibbling on a piece of chocolate while taking notes (Sirius would have to pester him about them later). Looking at Moony calmly jotting down some words, Sirius suddenly realised Moony was quite handsome. Those scars gave him a sexy, rugged look. He wouldn't normally really look at his friends like that, he didn't care much about their looks as long as they were good people. Then he realised what he had been thinking about. I'm only thinking about this because of this boring class... To stop himself from thinking about it any longer, he just started doodling.

When the bell rang they all started packing their stuff. "What a perfectly good example you are Moony, eating in class," He said. Remus blushed a little. "At least I was taking notes, contrary to you just doodling." Sirius' stomach felt a bit strange when Remus answered. "Well, since you didn't share that chocolate, I'm starving now," he said. "Yeah, let's go to lunch," James chimed in. So they all walked to the great hall.

When they arived, they all sat down. James sat next to him and Peter and Remus across from them, like always. They all immediately dug in because - let's face it- teenage boys are always hungry. They didn't say much during the meal. At a certain point Sirius noticed that Peter wasn't really eating that much. He looked a little more pale and sweaty than in class.

"Look at Snivellus, he is staring at us again," Peter said. "He looks like he's up to something..."

"Ugh, that greasy git," James answered. "He's probably trying to think of a way to get back at us from that prank last night."

They talked for a while longer about the prank. It had been nothing extreme, just some books that would fly away as soon as Severus would try to open them. It had probably kept him up all night, trying to finish his homework. Remus wasn't very happy with the prank because: 'everyone deserves education, even a greasy git like Snivellus'.

When the bell rang they walked back towards the griffindor common room for their free period. They sat down by the fire. Remus immediately grabbed his books and started revising some more before the next potions class, as professor Slughorn was likely to test what they had learned last lesson.

"Moony, can you please help me revise?"
"Why would I, you could have done it yourself last night."
"I was busy helping James prank Snivellus!" Sirius whined.
"A prank that I was against, because education creates better humans."
"Pleeeaaase Moony, I'll get you a bar of chocolate..."

At that, Remus looked up and looked Sirius straight in the eyes.
"What kind?" He said with one eyebrow raised. Sirius' stomach was doing that weird twisty thing again.
"70% dark with raspberry and almonds."
"... Deal."
So Remus helped Sirius revise while James and Peter were listening in.

By the time they got up to go to their next class, Peter was looking a bit green. "Wormtail, are you alright? You've been looking a bit off all day..."
"I'm fine Paddy, just a bit of an upset stomach."
"Take it easy, then. Don't be an easy prey for the Slytherins..."

They were standing in the dungeons now, waiting for their professor to arrive. Severus and the other Slytherins were there as well.
"I don't like the way Snivellus is looking at us," James said. "He looks like a cat who just caught a bird..."
"He can't do much now. If professor Slughorn arrives and catches him doing wrong, he'll be thrown out of the club," Remus replied. "And he'll be here any minute now."
"Speaking of the devil," James mumbled.

"Hello students," said Slughorn as he walked towards the waiting teens. "I hope you guys did your homework, because I planned a little quiz for you."

Sirius looked at Remus and gave him a thankful smile. Thank god for Moony, or I might not have known anything. At least I stand a chance.

Then Slughorn passed Peter. Peter suddenly groaned loudly and doubled over, clutching his belly. Nasty rumbling noices could be heard from the slighly chubby little guy's stomach.

"What's wrong, laddie?" Slughorn asked but Peter just groaned louder in response. Severus was looking at them with a smug smile on his face.
"It was him!" James yelled, pointing at Severus as Peter started making retching noises. "There, there, little boy. Don't just go accusing someone out of nowhere, Potter. Do you know what happened to this little chap?"
"No, sir"
"Just bring him to madam Pomfrey then, she'll be able to tell what's wrong."

At that moment Peter started throwing up his lunch.
"Wait for just a minute, I'll get a first aid potion, otherwhise you won't be able to get him to Poppy," Slughorn spoke as he rushed to his office to get the potion.

After they got the potion in Peter, which was a small miracle in itself as the boy was vomiting nearly nonstop, James and Peter were excused from class so Peter could go to the infirmary.

After the other students had calmed down from seeing such an unpleasant scene, they all filed into class. "I will still do the test now, but it will be for bonus points for the next test, instead of being a grade on it's own," Slughorn said as he passed the test sheets to all the students.

"I think it was Snivellus, like Prongs said, who did this to poor Wormtail," Sirius whispered to Remus. "I don't know Pads, you'd think he'd attack you or Prongs. Though poison does sound very Slytherin..."

"No more talking or I will take points from your house, one point per letter."

After the class finished Sirius and Remus walked to the infirmary in silence. They had no idea what happened to Peter and considering James hadn't come back either, it had to be serious...

Okay, so, authors notes:
- personally, I think Remus would be the mom of the group. Sirius however would be the one that is constantly keeping a close eye on all three his friends. Of course it mostly goes unnoticed by the others because it is something he secretly does. He cares a lot about all of them, considering they are the first people who actually care about him.
- even though Peter ends up betraying them later in their lives, when they all still attend Hogwarts, he is a full member of their little group. I think the others kind of see him as a little brother they have to care for (Peter is the smallest and weakest of the group), so they are protective of him. I also think Peter is the only one who knows Sirius is constantly watching them all, which is why he calls him Paddy instead of Pads. Padfood+daddy = Paddy. The other maurauders looked at him a bit funny the first time he said that, but they got used to it really quickly, thinking it was for Sirius looking a little girly sometimes with his long hair and "guyliner".
- hopefully I will actually end up writing a full story and not just forget about it and never write again XD
- please do correct my English, I am not a native speaker and probably will make a lot of mistakes. Do point out mistakes, don't be a dick about it.
