He was a master at this.
Years of dodging basketballs, tennis rackets and annoying people prepared him for this moment physically. But mentally? That was another story. Even as he twisted and turned his body to miss the army of dishes and cups being hurled at him, he thought; I did this to her. And he was right. He broke her. He had finally broke her. The light that used to resign in her eyes was replaced with pain but at the moment even that was gone. It was staring at two unforgiving light brown voids. Those gently hands that had once sooth him to sleep were nothing but tired, rough fists. Tired from trying to piece together his broken puzzle pieces and failing. Failing over and over and over again. So determined to show him that he was everything to her, yet failing to make him see that if he was gone she had nothing. He understood. He should have been more careful. She was so fragile. So beautiful, gorgeous, sexy even. But he could never make himself love her. No matter how hard he tried. He'll always love another. It was his fault.Austin missed another cup. It was starting to get hard for him to breathe, to think. He didn't know what to do. Ausin stared at her. She was in a kneeled position on the ground. Her fists clutched to the black carpet as if she was holding on to dear life. But what life did she have? She gave it all up for him. Because she loved him. She loved everything about him. Yet, she couldn't bring herself to say why.
Serene stared at the carpet. It was black. Black like her future if she had one left. She could feel his eyes roam her gently. He cared about her. She knew this. But this was all he could do. He couldn't bring himself to a least give her love a try. To test her. To see if her word had been true. She heard Austin feet slowly drag towards her until he was in front of her. He knelt in front of her. His face getting close to hers. Serene looked up at him. Her heart, no matter how much pain it was in right now, melted over his features. Those big dark brown eyes. Nothing compared to his eyes. She uncluched the carpet and touched his face. He flinched at first but then slowly melted into her hand. His eyes laced with concern, sadness and ...lust. Lust. That's what started this all. No. Look It was her. Serene ripped her hand from his face. "Go. Go be with her" Serene stood up and walked to the couch. She needed to sit down. She felt dizzy and sick with herself. She could remember the first time they had sex. Well it was her first time. God only knows how many times it had been for Austin. She closed her eyes and all she could see was his perfect body, that sexy smirk he always wore, his charcoal locks made him look so innocent, hiding his sadistic ways. It gave her goosebumps and caused shivers down her spine.
Austin walked over to Serene. Was she perfect? Yes. Yes she was. But she was perfect for someone else. Not him. He sat down next to her, studying her face. Her tanned skin gave her a goddess look. Short dark brown hair that stop just beyond her shoulders, her glasses perched perfectly on the bridge of her nose. She was smart, beautiful and can see through any lie. She was perfect. Yet...she thought he was perfect. She thought his smile was absolutely beautiful, even though his teeth were slightly crooked . She thought his face was handsome, even though he looked just like his abusive father. It always amazed him how, even when knocked down, she got back up. He got a little closer to her. He took a deep breathe and smelled her scent. All that baking she does made her smell delicious. He bit his lip. God he want to devour her. He wanted to mark her,... Make her his,....he wanted her and he wanted her NOW. He wrapped his arms around her small waist, taking in her curves. Her eyes flattered open. He saw many emotions in one. Sadness,Loneliness,Anger....Lust. The Want, no the Need to be touched by him. Yes....this was the only he could make her feel better. He pulled her closer and kissed her. The kiss was slow and heated. He pulled away and all he saw from her was lust. Her hair was messy from him pulling her hair. Her lips bruised from just that one kiss. Serene looked at Austin as if him touching her, kissing her, wanted him was her last wish. Austin
gently laid Serene down on the couch. That wish was his to grant.
