"Ugh, I thought you said dad would be here." Trunks whined to his mother.
Bulma ruffled his lavender hair. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I'm sure he's on his way. After all, your father does enjoy seeing how much you've improved."
"Hiya, guys!" Goku greeted loudly, with Goten by his side. "Good luck in the tournament, Trunks. You boys are gonna do great!"
"Hey, Goku. Where's Chi-Chi? I figured she'd want to be here."
"Oh..." he scratched his head, "She's sick. I felt bad for leaving her alone but she told me to be here for Goten."
"Hey dad, Trunks and I are gonna go get ready."
"Okay, you guys have fun out there!"
"C'mon Goku. I got us front row seats."
The martial arts tournament began. First part of the tournament was the men. Goku wished he could join the tournament too, but he knew it would be no fun considering his power was too much for any ordinary human to handle.
Goku turned his head when he felt a presence beside him. "Hey, Vegeta! I was afraid you weren't gonna make it." Vegeta huffed. "Goten has been telling me about how hard he's been training lately. I'm so proud of how strong he is."
"Your son may have improved Kakarot, but Trunks seems to get stronger everyday. I won't be surprised if he beats your boy in a few seconds."
Goku narrowed his eyes at Vegeta then laughed, "Well we'll see when the junior competitors are up."
"Damn it. So they still aren't up yet? I arrived late purposely so I don't have to sit through watching these measly, weak humans."
"Next is our women's division!" The announcer shouted with enthusiasm.
Goku and Bulma cheered and clapped while Vegeta sat back with his arms crossed. Two women started off in what Vegeta thought was a boring round. But the next round was different. He was distracted by one of the competitors who was announced by the name of Jin-Sun.
Something about this woman rang a bell in his head. He couldn't put his finger on it though. Where have I seen this woman before?
Compared to Jin-Sun's opponent, she was moving like lightning. "Wow, she's actually pretty good. Don't you think, Vegeta?" Goku asked.
Jin-Sun dodged every move the other girl threw at her. She did a cartwheel, making her gi raise up then she KO'd her opponent by delivering a roundhouse kick to her head.
Vegeta's eyes nearly popped out of his head. Was that a tail wrapped around her waist?! No... She couldn't be a Saiyan... I'm just seeing things... But what if she is?... Perhaps that's how I can vaguely remember seeing her somewhere... "I'll be right back." Vegeta said.
"Hurry back so you don't miss Trunks and Goten!" Bulma warned, turning her attention back to the sparing rink.
Vegeta snuck to where the competitors were. He saw Jin-Sun turn a corner and fazes in front of the woman, startling her. He roughly shoved her to the brick wall, "Who are you?" he questioned with gritted teeth.
The woman remained calm, regardless if it seemed as if she were in danger. "I would back away if I were you." she warned, "You have no idea what kind of warrior you are dealing with."
Vegeta chuckled, "Oh really? Just how tough do you think you are, hm?"
"Tougher than any human you've come in contact with." Jin-Sun powered up and attempted to break away from the man and the wall he was pinning her against. To much of her surprise, she was still in the same position without even moving an inch. "Impossible! How are you so strong?!"
"You're not from here. Are you?"
"That's none of your business!" she hissed. Vegeta roughly pulled up her shirt, "Hey, stop it!"
Under her clothes was indeed, a fluffy brown tail. I was right... "You're a Saiyan."
"Yeah, what of it?"
"Your name isn't exactly of Saiyan origins."
"It's my earth name. To help me blend in."
"Fair enough. Then what is your real name?"
She scoffed, "Why are you so concerned about who or what I am?"
"Because, I am Vegeta. The Prince of all Saiyans. Including you. So I, as your prince. Demand an answer." he smirked, at the feeling of being able to boss a person around.
The woman released a small gasp. "Are... Are you really Prince Vegeta...."
"Indeed I am."
"My prince, it's me. Jin-Jer."
Vegeta let the petite woman off the wall and took a step back, "H-how?" he asked in shock. "I thought you were... Were..."
She chuckled, "I can assure you I'm not dead, my prince."
Vegeta slowly lifted his hand up and stroked her face gently with his finger. He just had to make sure that this person was really Jin-Jer and he just wasn't imagining things. He noticed her blushing and quickly removed his hand. "Sorry. I just can't believe you're really standing here right now."
"I can say the same about you." she smiled, tilting her head to the side and twirling her finger around her braided pigtails.
Vegeta couldn't help himself and put his hand out. Jin-Jer knew exactly what he was motioning for. Their secret handshake. It felt nice to be able to do it again. "I can't believe I still remember that."
"Well I did teach you that when you were a toddler." Jin-Jer found her eyes gazing over Vegeta's chiseled body. "You've obviously grown up since then. You definitely got a lot stronger than I expected."
"I've been through a lot."
"Now for the finals, we welcome back Jin-Sun!" the announcer shouted.
"I Ummm... Better get back out there."
"Yeah... Sorry to hold you up."
Before Jin-Jer left she turned back around, "Would it be okay if we talked more after the tournament?"
Vegeta bit back a smile, "Of course. I'd like that."
