Jin-Jer sat up against the rejuvenation tank as Vegeta's unconscious body floated in the healing substance. The medics said if she didn't get to them in time, there was no telling if the Prince would have made it.

That attack was so powerful that it drained all of the energy out of the boys body. Vegeta knew better than to over charge his attacks. He learned this when he was a toddler. So why do it now?

One of the nurses walked in with a blue sheet, hanging over her shoulder. "He'll be fine, Jin-Jer. You can go and rest up yourself."

She shook her head, "That's okay. I need to stay with him."

The other Saiyan shrugged and handed the young girl the blanket, "If you're gonna spend the night in here, might as well be comfortable."

Jin-Jer wrapped the blanket around her body and leaned against the tank. Soon she had drifted off to sleep.
------------
Jin-Jer woke up to find that Vegeta was gone from the tank. She folded the blanket and used it as a shawl around her shoulders.

Every hall she entered was empty. Same as every room in the palace. Walking outside, she looked up to see a whole group, it looked like every platoon was standing up to that tyrant, Frieza.

Then what came next shocked her. A giant super nova was hurdling towards the planet! Before she could blink, everything went black.
----------
Jin-Jer's eyes shot open in a panic as she gasped for air. Her heart felt like it was going to explode. Taking in her surroundings, she realized she was still in the medical room.

She turned her neck hesitantly and sighed in relief that Vegeta was still there in the rejuvenation chamber.

"It was just a bad dream..." Jin-Jer stood up to go get something to eat. She made her way to the dining hall. Before making it to the room, there was yelling from some random Saiyan, screaming that his platoon was ambushed and that they're all dead. And how everyone is in danger. The force of danger was embodied by one person. Frieza.

Maybe her dream was a premonition of some sort. A sign to get the prince to safety.

Either way, she took it seriously and sped back to where Vegeta was. She slammed her fist against the drain button, waking Vegeta from his sleep. She wrapped a towel around his shivering, naked body.

"What are you doing?!" he asked in a panic.

Jin-Jer raided the area for a fresh pair of armor. "Put these on." she rushed, throwing it at the boy.

"What's going on? Are we under attack?"

"No." she said. "But I fear we're going to be..." she admitted under her breath to where Vegeta wouldn't hear.

Vegeta finally got his armor on, before he could do anything else, Jin-Jer picked him up in her arms and raced him over to the space pods. "Jin-Jer, I demand you to tell me what's going on!"

"There's no time for that!" she tried to quickly buckle him in until Vegeta smacked her hand away.

"Tell me what's going on now!" he yelled.

Jin-Jer sighed, "I have a feeling something bad is going to happen. I need to get you to safety."

"Why do you care what happens to me? After all, I'm just a burden, an embarrassment in your life." he shot back.

Jin-Jer slowly backed out of his space, "You heard that?"

"I heard everything..." he looked away from her with his arms crossed.

"I'm sorry, Vegeta." he scoffed at her apology. "I really am. And I'm thankful that you were there for me... I'm..." she looked down with watery eyes as she took a hold of his hand, "I'm a terrible friend... I'm sorry."

It took a lot of pride for the prince to accept her apology. "Wait, there's only one pod left. If you're helping me escape, what's going to happen to you?"

She shook her head, "Don't worry about that, my prince. My main priority is to take care of you."

"Wait!" Vegeta stopped her from strapping him in, "Come with me. We'll go together."

"There's no room for me, Vegeta. You need to go!"

"Not without you!" he argued, showing a little bit of emotion in his eyes. It hurt the girl to do this to him. They became so close and it felt like she was abandoning him.

"Don't act like such a child. You need to go now." she told him, making sure her tone was firm. There was no more time for them to argue. "A real prince does what is best even if it feels like the wrong thing to do."

It was hard for the boy to look her in the eyes. "Fine."

"Good. You're all set... Goodbye, my prince." she waved, trying not to look sad.

"Hold on!" Vegeta told her before she locked the pod. He put his hand out. Jin-Jer smiled. She gave him a front and backhanded high five, following it up with a fist bump then a peace sign. This may be the last time they ever did their secret hand shake. "Goodbye, Jin-Jer." he smiled.

She couldn't help her next actions. Jin-Jer leaned over and gave the prince one last hug, holding him tightly. Before he could react at all, she pulled away then locked the pod. Pressing the launch button, she then watched the ship fly high into space and off to the coordinates she punched in. Soon, he'll be safe with Nappa and Raditz on a random planet they were purging.
