We arrived at the Temple with just ten minutes to spare, to describe how it looked in a, single word: Intimidating. Now, I know, not much scares me anymore in life. But if I had to admit one thing that does scare me, it’ll be the Temple. Hands down, there is no competition to it. As it came into view, I could see, using my hyper-vision that there were guards everywhere! Meaning that our presence is—or should be—already known. “They know we’re here.” I accidentally whisper aloud to myself.
Seriah hears me, “Are you sure?” she asks in a worried tone of voice.
I glare her, “I’m still mad at you, so please, do not speak.”
“Why are you even mad?!” she exclaims.
“Because, if it hadn’t been for you, I wouldn’t be here. I would’ve never been sent out on so many missions to kill innocent beings. Because of the choices that you’ve made in the past, LGS has sent me on missions to murder the ones he knew were affiliated with your mother due to the fact he wants them out of the way. I am mad because I’ve played a part in destroying my planet, my Home, by following orders. Orders to kill innocent beings that had no right to die. But get this, Angelic, I did it because I had my orders, and those orders were made out of anger created by you.”
“Angelic?” she scoffs quite loudly. “My name is—”
“I know what your name is,” I interrupt. “Remember?”
“Then call me by it,” she takes my hand into her own. “Look, how could I have known that a mistake I made at that moment would’ve haunted me for the rest of my life? How could I’ve known that it would’ve affected those around me? Especially those who I would grow to care for and possibly love?”
That cooled me somewhat, somewhat. She said she possibly loved me, possibly. This meant that she possibly wouldn’t love me as well. “You didn’t,” I sighed heavily. “Now let’s keep going, we’ve got an appointment and I’d like to make there on time before the doctor cancels.”
“Fine,” she agrees, holding onto the child Nickol a little tighter.
As we drew closer, to the Temple, the guards began to notice us by the tens. Once we were outside the Temples gates, I whispered into Seriah’s ear, “This is where we part, after this; I cannot control what happens to us.”
“Will we ever cross paths again?”
I shrug and shake my head, “Most likely not.” I pause, “But I sure hope so and I will try to see you as much as possible, should the LGS decide not to kill you.”
“HALT!!” one of the larger Go-Lahu shouted from the balcony, “State your name and purpose, Angelic.”
I drop my head, shake it and smile, I knew who he was, “Who are you to question me, Straisure?” I look up at him. “I am LGS’s number three, your outranking warrior, DeGoro.”
“DeGoro?!” he gasps. “I figured you wouldn’t make it back in time!” Long story short, Straisure and I hate each other. The only reason of why he wanted me to not make it back in time was because of one word: jealousy. He wanted my position; he yearned for the LGS’s attention. Although I don’t know why. I mean, Straisure is a warrior ten times my level! He’s stronger, faster, and a lot more persuasive than I. If you know what I mean.
However, I am still LGS’s favorite so…sucks to suck, right? “Now why would you think that?” I asked him. “I am always punctual, Straisure.” I eye him fiercely.
“”Well, uh, you, see, uh…” he stammers as he loses his composure. He did not say why because he could not, although I already knew why. He couldn’t tell me his reason because if he were to admit his true feelings to a Superior officer, he could face death. Why, you ask? Because, I am to be his future Outranking officer, and because of that, he cannot admit anything negative to me. Besides, I’d rather he not admit anything to me at all. I can’t stand his ass!
