I waved my glitter encrusted, bright pink "magic wand" over Daisy's crowned head.
"I know dub thee Daisy Bloom Princess of... Of... Magical Princess Land! The Purple Princess!"
Daisy kneed in front of me. She wore a too-big old fashioned looking purple dress with a gauzy skirt over her t shirt and shorts and I wore the same in a bubble-gum pink. Silver birthday party crowns topped the matching braids our mom has put on our hair. We both held sparkly pink wands topped with stars in our hands and wore clip-on heart earrings. Marti-Gras beads were strung around our neck in various colors, we thought we looked stunning.
She giggled standing up and directing me to kneel before her as she had done. Daisy dramatically cleared her throat, always being the more dramatic of the two of us.
Placing her wand on my left shoulder and moving it between there and my head and other shoulder as she spoke.
"And I pronounce you Jaden Bloom the Pink Princess of... What did you say?" She paused tapping her chin, "wherever you said!"
I stood up, waving my wand in the air around her. "You have not taken the Oath seriously enough! I cast you out! To the attic for you!"
Daisy gasped, playing along. "Oh no your majesty! I do! Please don't make me go there!" She said falling to her kneels, truly begging me.
We heard a snicker from the doorway causing us both to turn toward the door.
"Get out! Get out! Get out Damon!" We both shrieked.
"Damon! You better not be bothering the princesses!" Our mother yelled up the stairs from the floor below.
"They're being to loud!" He shouted back. "It's just a stupid game anyways," he mumbled leaving us alone.
"That's right! Run away! Or I'll turn you into a toad!" Daisy shouts after him.
"He already is a toad!" I add.
"Enough girls! Or else daddy dragon's going to come and wreck the castle!" Our father yells up the stairs, sending us into another fit of giggles.
We fall on the bed laughing and making stupid joke, rolling around 'til our stomachs ache.
"Ohh! Let's take a picture Daze!" I shout suddenly sitting up as my twin dries the laughing tears from her cheeks.
We scramble out of bed and I grab my disposable camera off our vanity. We sling our arms around each other as I hold out the camera with one hand.
"Say... Princesses!" I command and we both go into another giggle fit for no apparent reason, just the way kids do.
"What's going on my giggly girls?" Our mother asked from the doorway.
"Take a picture!" We both shriek handing her the camera.
We pose with our arms over eachothers' shoulders and big, cheesy grins frozen on our faces.
The picture now is stuck to the mirror on my vanity. That day when we were six years old is still completely burned in my memory, and every time someone calls me a princess it sends me back.
Fast forward about 4 years to our tenth birthday party. By then we still had the same blue-green eyes, hers more green than mine. The same pushed-up pointy nose and ears that seemed to stick out a little too far. We were both about the same height and tall for our age, we wore the same size in clothes and shoes and besides the dirty blonde of our hair the similarities ended there.
The morning of our birthday I woke up alone in my purple striped tank top and matching shorts as a bundle of energy with its short hair tied at the side of it's head attacked me.
"We're ten!" Daisy yelled in my face straddling me.
"Get out of my room! It's too early!" I shouted back, throwing her off my and onto the floor. My love affair with sleep started young.
She ignored my remark and proceeded to crawl into my bed with me.
I yelped, "Daisy your feet are absolutely freezing!"
She giggled as I sat up next to my sister, my mid-back length hair fell in tangles out of my ponytail I slept in.
"Ready for today??" She challenged me as we got out of my bed, her in her matching pjs, except hers were red.
"Do I have a choice?" I retorted as non-sassy as I could.
Daisy stuck her tongue out at me, I couldn't help but laugh.
"Come in Princess J! Let's take this kingdom over!" She shouted using a joke that had been between us since that say nearly four years ago.
$$@Heya! So... I don't know what to say haha. If you couldn't tell this chapter is a flashback to when Jaden was six, then ten. Daisy is her twin sister as you figure out. Umm... I think I'm gonna say five reads for the next chapter! I really need reads!
