Chapter 4

(Esmeralda's POV)

I started to explore the city. It was quite small, but it gave off really chill vibes. I gave myself a mental high five. I got a place to sleep. I was starving, skateboarding without eating anything wasn't the smartest idea so I took a little break. I already had a text from Steven.

Steven : Hi
Me : Hey :)
Steven : Where did you go?
Me : Started to explore the city
Me : I'm starving
Steven : Meet me at the temple

And I did. He told me about this place called The Big Donut. And so once again I was skateboarding.

We were greeted by a guy with a mohawk.
"Who's your new little girlfriend Steven?" He said wiggling his eyebrows. Steven turned red of embarrassment.

"Who's your girlfriend?" I said pointing at a girl with blonde hair that was next to him. Mohawk guy turned red as well.

"Nice one!" The blonde haired girl exclaimed, giving me a high five. They handed us our donuts, then we left.

"Thanks for doing that for me back there." Steven said as we headed out.

"Well you're giving me a place to sleep tonight so I only think fair." I said. We got to Steven's place and there were 3 women. One was tall, she had a blocky afro and had shiny sunglasses. One looked like a ballerina and had a pixie cut. And one was purple and long hair and look like any modern teen.

"Oh Steven is she the one staying over! My name is Pearl!" Exclaimed ballerina lady.

"My name's Amethyst. Are you Steven's new girlfriend?" Asked purple girl. Steven turned as red as his shirt.

"No she is not. Now leave them alone Amethyst." Said the tall woman.

"But Garnet!" Complained Amethyst.

"Stop arguing you two! Ok you'll be sleeping over there," Pearl said pointing at a couch lined with pillows and bed sheets, "And what's your name sweetie?" Asked Pearl.

"Uh Esmeralda." I said. "But you guys can call me Esme for short."

It was probably around midnight but, I still couldn't fall asleep. Then Steven scared me.

"Esmeralda." He whispered. I jumped I never heard him coming. "Come I wanna show you something." And so I followed him. We got into the amusement park called Funland and we climbed the ferris wheel. The view was so calm. I could see the temple, the beach, and the Big Donut.

"I have something to tell you something," He said, "Since you're spending some nights with us now I want you to know that... I'm a crystal gem." He sighed. Then we pulled up 1/3 of his shirt to show me a quartz gem right where his belly button was supposed to be.

"I think it's only fair..." I said as I showed him my gem too.
