Chapter 5

(Steven's POV)

I fell off the ferris wheel. I didn't think anyone was half-gem and half-human like me. Good thing was that I could float. Damnit. I forgot to tell Esmeralda.

"STEVEN!" She yelled from the top of the ferris wheel.

"Esmeralda it's ok I can-" I was cut off by the clang of metal, she jumped off. This was my fault, she was gonna die and it was my fault. I started to cry. I drifted towards her, crying on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry Esmeralda! This is my fault! I shouldn't have taken you here! I just...." I sobbed. She blushed. Her gem lit up from under her shirt. She hugged me creating a green bubble around us. Then we drifted slowly to the ground.

"Uh um." Esmeralda mumbled turning red. She looked away. "How do I get rid of this?" She asked looking around.

"When this happens to me it just comes to me...sorry I really don't how to explain." I said. She looked disappointed. "But hey, we could do a bunch a stuff together now!" I said trying to cheer her up.

"It's 5am." Esmeralda said.

"Well the fry shop is probably open by now." I replied. And so we walked to the fry shop and there was Petee waiting for us.

"Hey Steven and..." Petee said staring at Esmeralda.

"I everything ok?" Esmeralda asked waving her hand in front of her face.

"I'm sorry I just...the bits right?" Petee asked blushing.

"Yeah." I said. As we left the fry shop I turned to Esmeralda, "We should tell the gems about your bubble, maybe they know how to help." And so we walked to the temple. When we got there Amethyst was eating breakfast.

"Hey y'all! Steven why do you have you're bubble inside?" Amethyst said.

"Uh...it's mine." Esmeralda replied.
