Chapter 6 - third person
A.N ~ Brad is Sophie's nickname for Bradley, hope it isn't confusing!
Sophie walked down the hall, her mind still a blur. For the past three nights she has been falling asleep to the heavenly voice from the house next door. Although she have never seen the guy behind the voice she was still intrigued to find out. A bump brings her back to reality as she fall back onto her butt in the middle of the school. "You keep on falling for me don't you nerd?" a deep voice asks. "You wish" she mutter under her breath as she stand back you and adjusts her glasses. "See you this afternoon Sophie" he winks before walking off leaving her stunned.
By the end of the last lesson of the day Sophie was the only one left in the classroom, everyone ran out of the door as fast as they could. She was in no rush to the library so she strolled through the halls making her way to the library. As she arrived she noticed that she was the only one there. Sighing she made her way over to a table and start going over notes for english.
One hour later Asher finally turns up. "Hey nerd" he smirks as he comes from behind Sophie. "Where were you!?" she shouted at him. "No warning, no reason just turn up late" her face, turning red at this moment. "Soph! Calm down, focus on your breathing" Asher comforted. All of a sudden everything started to spin around her. Her breathing became rapid as she fell to the floor. Asher immediately knelt down beside her as she focused on his emerald eyes.
"Think of something else okay?" He encouraged. "Like what?" she panted back. "Happy things, good things, friends, family" she glared back at him. Getting the hint about family he quickly regretted mentioning it. "Just regulate your breathing"He demonstrated with his hands. "I can't" she continued panting. "Look at me" He says while holding her hands. Running out of options Ashers lips smash into hers. Confusion filled Sophies mind until her breathing came back to normal. "How did you do that?" Sophie questions him. "I, uh... read somewhere that holding your breath can stop a panic attack. So when i kissed you... you held your breath" He muttered. "Thanks.. That's really smart" Sophie stammered. Almost shocked that Mr. Popular could actually be smart.
For the next hour Sophie tutored Asher in english without a word about the kiss. The time quickly passed as the clock chimed at 6:00pm. "We better get home, it's getting late" Asher broke the silence that had accumulated. Sophie reached her hand into her bag as she held her phone and dialed her father. "Hey, I'm at the library. Could you pick me up?" Sophie begged. "Sorry Sophie, I'm at work. I will send someone to pick you up" Shawn planned and without warning he hung up. Sophie muttered something under her breath, Asher didn't seem to notice. "You got a ride" Asher assured. Sophie nodded her head in response. "I will wait till your ride gets here" Asher asserted. 10 minutes later a car pulls up in the car park of the school. A tall figure gets out of the car, slowly making his way over to the two shadows near the doors to the school library. He quickened his pace as he noticed she wasn't alone.
Sophie's P.O.V
As the figure got closer i could make out his short blonde hair spiked to perfection. Her eyes widened as he came under the dim light above the pathway of the school. I faintly heard Asher swear under his breath as he found out the identity of the mysterious driver."Brad?" I questioned, although i recognised those eyes immediately. "Soph why are you with HIM" He stressed the last word, hesitant to use his real name. "Hang on" Asher spoke up. I felt his hand grab my arm as he held me behind him.
What was he trying to do?
Protect me?
No way, surely he doesn't think Brad can hurt me. Can he?
"Let...Go...Of...Her" Bradley spoke with anger, my eyes traveled down to his hands, beginning to clench his fists. The two boys bicker between each other forgetting i was right behind them. "She is mine so back off" Bradley warned. Thats where i drew the line. "Excuse me?" i quavered. " I am not yours Brad, and i'm not yours either Asher. Bradley let's go" i concluded. Asher dropped his guard and let my arm go. I walked towards Brad and grabbed his fists. "Breath Brad, just let it go". I whispered loud enough for him to hear me. Only him. I felt his muscles relax in mine as we made our way to the car. I climb into the passenger seat and look out the window. Watching Asher's shadow fade into the darkness as we drove home.
