Fate must really hate me.
I sneaked around, doing my best to remain unnoticed. I eventually found the lab, although who knows how I found it. Maybe it wasn't that conspicuous overhead sign that said "Dissection." Nope, it couldn't be that.
Long story short, I threw a bomb into the lab, surprising some people that were gathered around the "dissection" table. The timing was pretty neat because I managed to stop the doctor from cutting Hinata's face open with a scalpel.
Nasty.
Anyways, I became the heroine in this scene. Well, I'm supposed to.
Bad news: those doctors were trained ninjas. Who knew.
So I pretty much had to defend the table all by myself with Hinata in my arms. That wasn't easy, let me tell you.
But the greatest moment of my life, or maybe the worst feeling in my life, was when I felt something...pointy...pierce through my left side.
I could tell it was there, and I was so, so, so...
FRUSTRATED!
I was like "Dude! Keep you pants on!"
I was also crying at the same time as I was escaping out the door.
Not so "heroic," right?
Listen, I didn't care at that point. I was too scared, freaked out, and exhausted in my escapade. Dear goodness, I don't have nerves of steel!
Thankfully, I spotted Hinata's Sensei running towards us, so I was able to clear my thoughts and realize something incredibly vital.
"OW OW Hahaha owwww..."
I found out that a kunai in the back really does wonders to your heights of pain.
Hinata's sensei and a bunch of other people were there to help get all the doctors off my back. I was taken to the hospital to be treated, and Hinata was sent to the ER or the Emergency Room.
After being treated, I was able to leave (politely thrown out) the hospital because we had a sudden increase in injured people.
"We're under attack?" I asked a nearby doctor. "Like who--how--what...huh?" I wasn't quite sure what to make of this whole situation.
"Miss Kuni, please calm down," the doctor said sternly. "First, we are under attack. The Sand Village is attacking us, specifically. Second, the hospital has an increase in injured people. There are civilians still out there, so can I trust you to lead them to the safety chambers?"
"Sure thing!"
"Good then. Take care and don't overstrain yourself. That kunai was in you pretty deep."
"Yes sir!"
So I was sent outside to go find civilians and take them to the underground chambers and hiding spots. I found several Genin doing the same, and I joined in the chaos.
"STAY CALM!" I called to the civilians. "WALK SLOWLY AND WATCH YOUR STEPS!" Others shouted the same encouragements as we rushed everyone into the underground chambers.
After the last kid had gone int, we sent several Genin inside before shutting the doors.
"Everyone in?" A Chunin shouted to us.
"YES!"
"Good work! Look for any injured people!"
"Right!"
Psshwing!
I jerked around to see Ino holding her ground with Tenten against an enemy ninja. Tenten had just saved my back from another kunai.
"Be careful, Hirano!"
"Yeah!"
I followed other Genin to find any injured people. We found several of our own ninjas and helped them to the hospital. Luckily, no civilians were found injured, so that most likely meant they were all safe.
As for the enemy ninjas, they wouldn't let us near them, most of the resorting to suicide bombing. Others stabbed themselves all over, and some slit their own throats.
For someone who has never experienced life or death situations, the sight was frightening and sickening. Like I said, I don't have nerves of steel. All I could do was help count the number of body bags the others had stuffed corpses into each one.
This wasn't my world.
I want to go back home.
But where's home?
I don't know.
