Tessa walked around campus like a lost puppy after Brandon was drafted, some of her friends had noticed including one of Brandon's former team mates Chase Jeter. Tessa walked into class and sat next to Chase. "Guess who I talked to last night." He said in a joking tone, her eyes looked up and shrugged as she took notes. "B." He whispered, and she looked over to him and smiled weakly. "Is he doing alright?" She asked as she turned her notebook page. Chase nodded. "Yeah, he misses his boo thang, though." Tess smiled and wrote down a sentence. "I miss him too, I wish I could just see him, but he's busy and I get that." She said as the notes ended, she went through her phone and looked at Chase who had a goofy smirk on his face. "You're such a Goober." He chuckled at the clean nickname she decided to use. His surprise for her was gonna make her rethink the name.
After class, Tess went to the library and studied for a while, mostly because her friends were in practice. After practice Luke met up with her and smiled. "Hello Tessie Lou Lou." Tess cringed at the nickname that has been with her since she was a child. "Lucas, gross." He laughed as they walked together. "How was your day?" She shrugged and looked in his direction. "Eh, same ol' same ol'." Tessa walked with Luke to her apartment and unlocked the doors slowly walking in dropping her bag. "Luke, get the left over Chinese out and heat it up. I'm gonna go call Brandon and then shower." He nodded and sat on the couch turning his Xbox on. It was six pm in Durham so she knew it was three pm in LA. The phone rang a few times. "Tessie Lou-"
"Stop or I'll hang up." She heard the chuckle from the other end of the phone. "I miss you, sweetheart." She smiled and laid on her bed. "I miss you more, all star." He loved hearing that voice. Brandon hated being away from his best friend, she was his rock. They have been super close since they met. Brandon went on talking about his day, she listened to him rant on about how practice was, something really made her break. He got quiet for minute, she heard him clear his throat. "I miss you, Tessa Grace." She held her chest and frowned while tears welled up into his eyes. "I miss you, Brandon Xavier." He coughed and sat on his bed. "I gotta go, I have a photo shoot. I'll call you tomorrow." She didn't want he phone call to end but she smiled and spoke. "Okay, B. I'll talk to you soon."
Brandon hung up taking his bags out to the Uber. "She has no clue. Good job fellas." Brandon took the Uber to the plane and then the plane to Durham, NC. Brandon landed at RDU at two in the morning. He was picked up by Chase and taken back to Chase's apartment. "You gonna be her wake up call?" Brandon nodded and smiled ear to ear, Chase knew about the feelings they both had for one another. "I can't wait to see her, Man." Chase nodded and smiled along with his friend. "I know." Brandon slept that night but it was hard for him to get to sleep. The next morning Brandon got up and showered and made his way to Luke and Tessa's place. He walked in hugging Luke as he pointed to the room down the hall. Brandon walked in and laid next to the sleeping beauty next to him. "Tess, wake up." He whispered softly. "Wake up I flew four hours to see those beautiful green eyes."
Tessa opened her eyes and gasped hugging him tightly. "Is this a dream?" He shook his head chuckling. "No, baby girl. I'm here." He kissed her forehead. Everything feeling so natural when he was with her. "I missed you Brandon." He chuckled kissing her lips softly. She placed a hand on his neck as she kissed him back. "I missed you too Tessa Grace." She held onto him and he squeezed her as they cuddled and Luke walked in snapping a few pics. "Oh yeah, TMZ are going to love these." They both chuckled and laid in bed talking, catching up, and making out.
