"What do you propose Seto?"
In the small circle of sorcerers and sorceresses only, Seto stood up, taking a single piece of paper out of his bag.
"The newest subject, a rare Alpha Angel, is quite dangerous, I would say. No matter what we do, it would be very damaging to both him and us, and it might not be a risk I'd like to take," Seto said through gritted teeth.
"Difficult to work with, and very possibly deadly. I suggest a mind control serum as well as fear conditioning," another suggested.
Seto internally groaned. He hated the fear conditioning process, training subjects to fear certain sounds or actions, expecting pain or punishment.
"I don't believe fear conditioning would be effective, but maybe an armband would be more effective," another said.
"There's always possession," one suggested.
Seto sighed, rubbing his forehead trying to ease the ache. "This subject is very, very strong willed. It will be difficult to get him to surrender and cooperate. We may have to resort to other means," Seto said, reading off his notes.
They all nodded, murmuring among themselves.
They chattered for hours before deciding on fear conditioning combined with an armband as a quick punishment, and muscle control if necessary.
Seto was still unhappy, even after the relief of finally ending the meeting.
His head pounded fiercely, and he swore he could hear whispers fading in and out of his ears.
And you call yourself a sorcerer
Seto plopped into his office chair, swirling around lazily. He sifted through the pile of papers stacked neatly to the side of his desk. That lion hybrid that needed to be verified for government use, a new subject being transported (a child with electrokinesis), more supplies being shipped out... Seto felt himself falling asleep.
~
He sitting at his desk, sifting through papers. Someone came and slammed their fists on the desks, snatching Seto's attention.
And you call yourself a Sorcerer!
Seto was now awake, it seemed, eyes widening in fear. The figure had no face, and where the limbs and flesh were supposed to reside was only darkness, it seemed wisps of darkness flying around.
You have disgraced a great family name.
Seto's mouth seemed to refuse to open.
If there was one thing the Magis prided themselves on, it was their selflessness and loyalty, and in one day you have destroyed it.
Everything was spinning now, and Seto found it hard to think.
With great power comes great responsibility, and if you, Harvey Seto Magi, do not display that responsibility, we will make sure you lose that power...
~
Seto jolted awake, sweat beading on his forehead. He stood, trying to make his way to the restroom before he threw up all over himself. He fell, the world spinning beneath his fingers on the tiled floor.
He felt drained, as if all his life force was being sucked away, bringing him closer and closer to the edge by the second. Something pounded his head one last time before he passed out.
That was only the beginning, my boy.
