Chapter 3: Bestfriend

I looked at Brent as he questioned about the bruise, I could tell he was worried.

"Nothing, I uh fell" I lied.

"Callie, you can tell me anything" he said obviously not believing me.

"I don't know.."

"Tell me when your ready" he said turning around facing the teacher.

I starred at him as I thought to myself, I knew I could trust him but I didn't want him to think I was easy.

After school, I ran up to Lexi.

"Callie! what happened to your face?!" She asked.

"Can I go over?"

"Sure but you need to tell me the details!"

"I will" I said as we started walking to my car.

"Wait, does your brother need a ride?" I asked.

"No, he has a car"

"Okay"

"Why are you suddenly so worried about him Callie? huh?" she said joking around.

"Oh shut up Lexi" I said smiling. As I drove, we started to blast music. We were blasting Justin Bieber, "Fall". I love this song so much, we started to sing along.

"Well let me tell you a story about a girl and a boy, he fell in love with his best friend when she's around he feels nothing but joy, but she was already broken and it made her blind, but she could never believe that love would ever treat her right" We sang aloud.

Once we got to her house, we ran straight to her room, nobody was home yet.

"Ok now tell me!"

"Okay so before the bruise, I was at a party with my boyfriend and I was doing cocaine, I looked up and saw Brent... I really didn't want him to see me do that but he saw anyways. After that my boyfriend and I started to fight, he was trying to make me do more but I didn't want to, so we started to go downstairs yelling at each other. My boyfriend pushed me and I fell to the ground, then Brent punched him and we left running to his car and he dropped me off home"

"WHAT!? Brent punched him!? oh my gosh, well tell me about the bruise! Enough with Brent! It sounds like you have a crush on him"

"Lexi! do you want me to tell you or not!?"

"Alright alright!"

"Okay so when I got home I started to do my nightly routine when someone knocked on the door and I opened the door without even asking who it was and it was my boyfriend. He pulled me by my hair and started talking so much shit then he punched me."

"Oh my gosh! that son of a bitch! He shouldn't EVER touch a girl! What's his problem!?" She said.

I started to cry as Lexi hugged me. That's when Brent came in the room. I looked up at him and started to wipe my tears off.

"Oh sorry, wrong timing.." he said as he left.

I looked at Lexi, "I'll be right back" I said. She nodded and I exited her room shutting the door. I went to Brent's room and knocked on his door.

"Come in" he said. "Oh Callie, what's up?"

"Um, did you hear everything we were talking about?" I asked obviously knowing he was behind Lexi's door hearing our conversation.

"Yea.. I didn't mean to it just kind of happened."

"It's fine, I was going to tell you anyways." I smiled as I let a tear drop run down my face.

"Well I gotta go" I said, but before I could leave he grabbed my arm and turned me around, this is when I noticed how cute and tall he was. But I wouldn't let myself fall in love, I don't believe in love. He looked me in the eyes but I looked down, I didn't want US to be anything. As I looked down he looked at my scars on my arm, I looked back up and he wiped my tears away with his thumb. I started to feel something, I wanted this feeling to go away because the last time I felt this I got hurt, again.

"You don't have to do this" he said.

"You don't know me Brent.."

"But I want to" he replied quickly. I looked down and couldn't help but cry again. Without even noticing I hugged him tightly, he hugged me back. I reached his shoulder, my head was resting on his chest, I cried as I heard his heart beat and smelled his cologne.

"Sorry, I really needed that right now" I said.

"It's okay, I'll be here whenever you need me" I nodded and smiled at him. I left back to Lexi's room.

"Callie, you smell like my brothers cologne."

"So what" I said not caring at this point.

Later that day I went home and got ready for bed. For the first time in many years I didn't have that feeling to hurt myself, I felt happy.

As I got into bed, I started to think about earlier, Brent was now my best friend, usually I don't trust people this easy but with Brent it was different. I fell asleep with a smile on my face that night.
