Love is Surprising

Ch. 8

"We'll talk about this later she says as she hears Monica and Samantha approach the door. After that, time goes by pretty quickly, we eat brunch, pack our bags and drive home. My mom, Monica, Liam, and me in one car, and Devynn and Niall in their car.

Liams P.O.V.

Samantha and Monica started talking as soon as we got on the highway, and it was hard to keep up with their conversation. I watched Phoenix put on her headphones and decided to do the same. I put my phone down and reached for my bag in the back to grab my headphones. Once I have them I pick up my phone and notice that I have a message:

Phoenix: Hey, sorry about my mom, she's kind of loud :$

I look at her, chuckle, and quickly reply:

Me: Oh, lol, it's fine, so whatchya listenin to?

I watch her expectantly until she gets it, she replies:

Phoenix: Save Rock and Roll by Fallout Boy. hbu?

Me: the full album? and 5sos

Phoenix: Yup, and what songs?

Me: Full album, Somewhere New

Phoenix: Oh sweet, i love them!

We continued with small talk the entire way home. Things were awkward. I decided to leave her alone about it, I'll talk to her in a few days I guess.

Nialls P.O.V.

I was alone in the car with Devynn for 5 hours... shit

"So..." I begin, knowing that this will be the most awkward car ride yet. "So what?!" she snaps "I have nothing to say about her. She kisses Michael, then she kisses me, and then she kisses you. Shes leading all three of us on, this isn't a game, pick somebody and stay with them. She can't lead me on, let me fall for her, if shes just going to go after you" what... what? " I spent all of last night thinking baout her, I fell asleep thinking about what it would be like to have her in my arms. I dreamt of her, of what it would be like to hug her and kiss her everyday, to hold her hand as we walk through the park.. and I saw her kissing you, and everything i thought of was suddenly shattered.." "you.. you like her? .. You really feel like that...?" she pulls over " You need to drive, i can't do this right now" I take over and the rest of the drive was silent.. [A/N: I got really really upset writing this.. sorry for the feels... oops...]

Phoenixes P.O.V.

I can't believe what has happened in the last week... With Liam and Niall & Devynn and us making it to Nationals. Today we're meeting the boy that made it to Nationals for his solo, i sure hope I don't fall for him too!

"Why haven't we met him before?" Liam asks "He trains with Amy and Roo" Monica responds, "You guys will love him!" she continues "theres just one quirk about him, I'm sure you"ll find out soon enough" we keep talking until we pull into the lot.
