Quentin gripped his hands around Julia's neck, she gasped for air as she struggled to break free. Her back pressed against the hard ground feeling Quentin's weight on top of her. Quentin's face was emotionless as if he was under a spell. From the corner of her eyes Julia saw a black and white blur and reached towards it for help. As she turned her neck the blur came into focus. The petite girl standing next to them was no older than 18 with long black wavy hair up in a messy pompadour ponytail. The girl blinked at Julia and her green eyes changed from human to reptilian.

Julia recognized the girl as the Silver Witch despite her human appearance she knew the girl could revert back into a dragon. Quentin and Julia thought the Silver Witch was just their imagination when they were growing up. As Julia got older her belief in magic and Fillory faded, this angered the Silver Witch.

As Julia looked to the Witch for help all she saw was a wicked smile. Seeing her Julia realized the Silver Witch had never forgiven her. Julia tried to keep her eyes open but everything began to fade into darkness.

The Witch clapped her hands, amused as she walked to Quentin."Good work Q!" She smiled at Julia's lifeless body, "You know this had be done." The Silver Witch held Quentin close against her red velvet dress. "For you to get stronger, a sacrifice must be made." Her deeply tanned hands pushed his hair away from his face gently. "Unlike Julia, I was there to support you, when you needed someone the most I was your unconditional friend. I hope you'll remember that Q."

"I will."

"Good. Now let's get this over with." She looked at Julia and said an incantation motioning with her hands. A blue flame emerged from Julia's mouth and the Silver Witch guided Quentin in swallowing it. With a quick hand motion, Julia's body burst into flames. All evidence of their wrong doing vanished with the ashes.

"Now was that so hard?" She asked Quentin but he remained silent, "Let's go," she huffed. "We're supposed to meet everyone at the park."

"What about when they ask about Jules?" Quentin asked, dazed.

"Let me do all the talking." She said casting a spell to keep him quiet.

At the park Penny, Janet, Elliot and Alice were already waiting for them.

"I'm just saying you look more like a Margo to me..." Elliot shrugged.

"Hey, what took you so long?" asked Penny harshly.

"Were you guys able to find anything more on The Beast?" asked Janet.

"Where's Julia?" Penny cut in.

"No, it was a dead end." Said the Witch ignoring Penny, "She got separated from us." The Witch gasped, "You don't think The Beast got her, do you?"

Alice adjusted her glasses. "Let's hope not."

"Were you able to get the Alumni Key?" asked the Witch

"Yes. In fact it was quite easy," Alice said.

"Elliot give her the key" said Janet.

"Whatever you say Bambi." Elliot offered the Witch the key. "Maybe we can have that threesome I've always dreamed about."

The Witch grabbed the key, and gave Elliot a fake laugh.

At Brakebills, the Witch started their training. She was the only one to survive an encounter with The Beast. Unlike the others, the Witch still remembered the other time loops. The first time she met Quentin they were in Fillory and passed by each other for a second.

In the second time loop, she thought Quentin was a twin. After befriending him he was accepted into Brakebills. The Witch met him again as he was dying on the ground in front of The Beast. She attacked The Beast but it was too late, Quentin was dead. Then it all made sense, someone was messing with time. She felt like she had an obligation to help defeat The Beast.
