AMY'S P.O.V

I, for some reason, nervously knock at Charlotte's door and take a deep breath. A few seconds later, she opens the door with her brightest smile and instantly steps aside to let me enter the house. Since I've been here at least a thousand times, I comfortably kick my shoes off and hang my jacket off on the coat hanger.

Charlotte walks into the living room before me, and I smile as I walk through the hallway, following her. I have to say, it does feel weird being here when Kayla isn't with me. Sure, since she moved to London I've been here with Chase a lot of times, but I meant in general.

When we were little kids, the only times I were here was when she invited me to hang out after school, or because of a birthday party. And throughout these years that's passed so incredibly fast, the thought that I'd come here for Chase never striked me.

Thinking back at the time when life was much simpler, when you didn't have to worry about your grades in school or writing an essay the night before it's due, my mind brings me to those days when me and Kayla hung out at the same time that Eli and Chase hung out.

The two of them were complete and utter dicks, to be honest. Chase on his own wasn't bad, but whenever Eli was mixed into everything - he was ten times worse. He's always been a prankster, Chase, but Eli has always been a bad influence on him.

He's a little brat who thinks he knows everything, and he still is. It actually passed two years at one point where I didn't talk to him at all. The only reason I had a reason to talk to him, though, was a month ago when Chase randomly vanished.

My stomach clenches at the thought, and I shoot it away. I join Charlotte in the couch and excitedly wait for Chase to come home. At least this time he told us where he was going when he left London.

I'm pretty sure we're back to normal, but after my drunken mistake of somehow wanting to dump him, I can't know if he feels like we're back to normal. We've texted, and talked over the phone a few times, but it's going to be completely different now that he's coming home again.

As if he was called upon by my thoughts, me and Charlotte both jump up on our feet when we hear the front door open. I give her a big smile, and she leaves the living room before me, quickly wanting to greet her son.

Insecurely, I slowly enter the hallway as well and the first thing I see is Charlotte wrapping her arms around Chase, and he tightly wraps his around her body as well. He's still entirely dressed to be outside, and even his bag is still hanging on his shoulder.

"Don't you ever do that to me, again. Ever. Got it?", Charlotte says, and I can tell by her tone that she's tearing up.

"I promise, mom.", Chase smiles sweetly at her before he drops his bag to his feet and is about to take off his outer garments.

But, he stops himself when he sees me standing a few meters behind Charlotte. Our eyes immediately lock together, and I'm not sure what feeling washes over him, but his incredibly sweet smile spreads across his lips and none of us hesitate.

I rush towards him and he meets me in the middle, and I almost fly into his embrace as I wrap my arms around his neck, as well as my legs around his hips. His palms press against the my shoulder blades, and he presses our bodies as close to each other as possible.

He buries his face in the crook of my neck, and with his lips pressed against my collarbone, I feel his smile widen more and more and almost desperately tighten the grip of my arms around his neck, trying to get us even closer to each other.

"I'm sorry.", he and I both mumble at the same time.

"No, I-", I say.

"Don't.", he interrupts me and leans away, sliding his hands down to the back of my thighs to support me.
