A/N: I haven't updated in forever oh my god. It's just that I have a lot of exams coming up, and I will have a lot of exams all the way until the middle of May. When May is over so will my exams be, so that's why I won't be as active :(

I'm sorry for the delay, but I just wanna say that I am not losing connection to my characters at all. To be honest, I myself am very attached to Niall and Kayla as a couple, and if I could I'd write all day everyday.

But, I can't. Mainly because of the exams, but also because I don't want to rush through the chapters.

Anyways, I hope this chapter makes up for the way too long wait. Happy reading, I love you xx

I feel someone put their arm under my legs, and the other one around my back, and I'm quickly lifted into the air. Just a few seconds later whoever is carrying me puts me down on something soft, and there is a pillow to support my neck.

No matter how much I wish I could sigh in relief, I still feel too numb to do anything. Partially because of the alcohol I was forced into 'drinking', but also because it feels like I've been lying outside in the cold forever.

Somebody sits down next to me, and whatever I'm lying in, starts moving. Whoever that's sitting next to me wraps a blanket around me, and I slowly feel my skin heating up again. I'm still confused as to where I am, but I let the warmth comfort me for now.

Later, it could be minutes or even hours, what I have noticed to be a vehicle pulls over, and the person sitting next to me is quick on his/her feet. He/she opens the doors that leads in here, and then another person joins his/her side to help me get out of the vehicle

They carry the - what I think is a - stretcher down on the ground, and then they roll it into a building. Slowly regaining my consciousness, I flutter my eyes open and try to look around. There are lights in the ceiling that almost blind me, so I do my best and try to turn my head to the left instead.

My suspicions are right - I'm currently being pushed down the hallway of the hospital. I try to ask the man pushing the stretcher how I got here and who called the ambulance, but I cannot for the life of me find the energy to do so.

A few hallways later, the man lifts me from the stretcher and on to a real hospital bed. I grab his wrist just as he's about to leave, and mouth thank you to him. He smiles and nods understandingly, and I exhale deeply.

I just want to sleep, my mind tiredly says. Unfortunately, since my body is so numb from the cold and the pain, I've been on the line between unconscious and conscious for so long that I've been trying my hardest to stay awake.

I'm extremely exhausted, actually, but I just want to know who got me here. I want to know that it's okay for me to sleep. I want Niall here, my mind says and I feel tears well up in my eyes. It's not because I miss him that I get teary eyed, it's because he would calm me down and keep me safe. I always feel safe with him.

A nurse comes over to me, notices the tears in my eyes and gently places a hand on my shoulder. "It's okay, love, you're safe now."

I try to speak, but can only open my mouth but don't get any words out.

"Do you want anything?", she asks, worriedly scanning my face.

"My.. my phone.", I try to say but it only comes out as a whisper, and I feel my throat being incredibly sore.

"Your what?", the nurse asks, leaning closer to me.

"Phone.", I tiredly say.

"We have it, and we have informed your mother that there is no need for her to worry at all - you'll be okay to call her back in a few hours, so she won't have to fly from the US.", she politely states. "Is there anyone in particular you want us to call? Anyone that actually can come here?"
