Today was the day. The day I would finally marry the man I have loved since college. It's wild, huh? I do feel a little guilty because I feel as if I betrayed Jessica by marrying her ex, but she's perfectly fine with it. Don't believe me? Story time.

"Hey, it's my lovely best friend. How are you doing, Jess?" I answered my phone playing a cheesy 'it's your best friend' ringtone. A smile crossed my face as she told me about how her life and degree was treating her. My heart rate accelerated as my palms became sweaty. I told myself that it's now or never. I took a deep breath which caused Jess to stop talking.

"Hope, what's wrong? Did Sam do something?" Jess's worried voiced called out on the phone's speaker. Walking ceased in the background which caused me to turn to see my future husband. He gave me an encouraging smile while nodding towards the phone.

"Well, he did do something, but it's not bad. Well, from your perspective, it might be," I halted because I heard my closest friend inhale sharply.

"Did he get you pregnant?!" she screeched though the phone's speaker. I let out a small giggle as I told her incorrect.

"He asked me to marry him," I spoke through the phone quickly because I felt a speech breaking through.

Silence. Pen-dropping-silence. Then. An earsplitting scream. I moved the phone away from my ear (even though she was on speaker, I still had the phone close to my head). A mumbled rush of air and sound soon hurried through the phone's speaker. After it sounded as if she was having a panic attack, the call ended. Confused, I locked the phone, only to see that she was calling me on FaceTime. I inhaled deeply to answer the call, seeing a genuine bright smile on her face. "If you do not let me help with the wedding, we cannot be friends!"

A knock on the door interrupted me from reminiscing any further as Jessica strolled through the door. "The ceremony is about to start, are you ready?" I eased onto my feet as I placed a kiss on her cheek to signify yes.

_____

"I have loved you ever since I got to know you as a person. I really liked you when I first saw you, which was a bad thing considering I was dating Jessica at the time. Then as we spent more time together, I soon learned that I was falling in love with you. Even though you believe that you 'ruined' my relationship with Jessica, you really didn't. We both had grown apart, and even though you will forever blame yourself, neither one of us blames you. If it wasn't for you being there for me all the time, I have no idea what I would've done. You helped me think clear and keep my head on straight. You go by the motto that 'perfect is impossible', but whenever I look at you, I feel as if anything is possible. I look at you and see nothing but perfection. From your dazzling smile to your habit of stealing shirts. I truly love everything about you, and one day, I will truly love our children because they will resemble your spirit. I love you Hope."

Sam's bipolar eyes locked with my crying ones. His smile brightened as he stepped forward to kiss the bride, as instructed. His arms wrapped around my waist as mine reached up for the back of his neck. He leaned down to place the kiss to my lips but stopped suddenly. Soon everything went to hell.

All the beauty that was surrounding the wedding quickly morphed into something horrendous. The bright vibrant flowers surrounding the brick pavement quickly wilted, turning into a grey, sully color. The trees transformed into barren, dried up stumps. The cascading water fountain behind me acted as if it was a lake in a desert, quickly drying up and forming rust. Turning back to look at my husband, his body was a dusty skeleton a few inches away from my lips. I screamed in horror and tried to get away, confused on what the hell was going on. A bony hand grabbed my arm as I turned to flee and started to drag me down. I fought against the pressure until something grabbed me and pulled me up. Bright light blinded me ascent.

(Sam's POV)

"Mr. Winchester," the white-coated life saver proceeded to stride towards me with a shadowy look engraved on his face. My thoughts bounced from bad to worse thoughts as I tried to focus on walking towards him. "Your wife has passed. She was sleeping, but then her heart gave out. I'm sorry for your loss," the doctor tried to hold back tears while I fell back to my seat. My wrinkled skin flew to my eyes as I tried to hide my depressed crying.

"No. I can't lose her. I already lost Dean, not her too," my crying increased into a scream as Violet wrapped her arms around my shoulders, crying into my arm. My only daughter tried to comfort me while she was experiencing the same torment I was. I placed my arm around her shoulders after she dropped hers to try to repay my debt. I tried to shush her while rocking back and forth. My son-in-law sat on the other side of my 23-year-old daughter and placed her into his arms. "Can I see her?" I stood while trying to see through the blinding tears.

Everything passed by in a blur as I focused on following the doctor who was assigned to my wife. Thinking about my life and how incredible it was, I was soon facing the room that had become so familiar. The love of my life lay lifeless as I stumbled to her bedside. I grasped her hand and placed a tender kiss to it, puzzled on why she had a smile on her face. I asked to be alone with her which the doctor granted me access to, and after he left, I prayed to Castiel. A flap of wings later, icy blue eyes was placed upon my body as I heard a sharp gasp. I snapped my head towards the bed to see Hope breathing once again. "She cannot stay. I cannot heal her fully, but I can give you five more minutes with her. I'm sorry."

I cried in happiness that I get to even spend only five minutes with her. I thanked Castiel graciously as I rushed over to my wife. "Listen. I only have five minutes, so I want to say this. You made my life amazing. When I was younger, I had always wanted to live this type of life, and thanks to you, I could accomplish it. I would love to stay here and spend more time with you, but I must go. Promise me this. Don't try to bring me back. I know you Samuel. Don't do it. Tell Violet that I love her dearly and to take care of her stubborn father. You are an amazing man. I love you, and I cannot wait to see you in heaven. Luckily for you, my heaven might be just my life. I love you baby."

I reached down to place one last kiss to her lively lips. As soon as her head touched the pillow, a flatline noise screamed on the monitor.
