In 1979, Prince appeared on American Bandstand and performed I Wanna Be Your Lover, I was 10 years old. I remember thinking he was a very pretty man...his lips, his eyes and his blown out hair. During his interview with Dick Clark, he would only give one word answers which I found extremely funny.
Then in 1982, Prince's 1999 album was released and I was in love!! I was now 13 years old and grabbed the latest TigerBeat magazine which contained a free Prince poster, which quickly found its way to my wall right next to my bed. This was the poster:

In my bedroom, I would listen to his music on cassette on a tape recorder, similar to this one, trying to decipher all his dirty lyrics. Lol I was smitten.

Seeing Purple Rain with my first boyfriend and my 18 year old prudish sister who was horrified at the love scenes. Me...well I wanted to be Appollonia. I was ALL FREAKING INTO HIM!
How could I forget this one. Sales guys always gave my Dad Minnesota Timberwolves tickets...this particular time we were on the floor. Diagonal to us was PRINCE, looking as lovely as ever, with Jimmy Jam and Terri Lewis. This was obviously pre cell phone days and I didn't have a camera with me...but I did enjoy staring at his loveliness for the ENTIRE game. 💜💜💜💜😎😎😎😍😍😍
