Siel swept a cape around his shoulders; it was completely black on the front and deep sapphire blue on the backside. With a click, two corners of his cape attached to his shoulder blades. He outstretched then clenched his fingers a few times before sitting down. Pinching his index and thumb fingers together on the surface of the dashboard, he spread them apart and formed a typing screen.
The number sequence 04172734 appeared in the upper hand corner, followed by 23:13:54. Drumming his left hand fingers on the side of the screen a couple of times, Siel began processing information in his head, his eyes closing. A few seconds later, they flew open once again, and his fingers flew across the dashboard, typing sequences of letters and numbers.
A blue light flashed from a circular button near the side of the typing screen. He pressed it with a finger, and a voice requested, “Permission to speak in the artillery wing concerning the E series robots.”
“Permission granted. I’ll be there in a minute,” Siel said. He lifted his finger from the button and returned to his work. After completing the section, he stood and went over to the door. As he exited, he pressed a button on the inside of the door, which activated an extra camera that watched the insides of the room, the command center.
Walking down a corridor, he entered the artillery wing and went into the central room of the area. There, he found the head of the wing, and beside him was the second-in-command, the R-series leader. The head leader, a man called Darren, nodded once, acknowledging the presence of his commander. Siel walked past them, moving towards the table behind him where several designs were drawn.
Darren stood to his right and gestured towards the papers. “These are the three designs we made to improve the E-series robots. Even though the R-series robots generally have more gadgets on them, the E robots have a quicker arm in battle. We were originally planning on gradually transferring all E robots into a similar form of the R robots, but we decided to have them keep their overall design. This paper has some designs of guns the E robots will have in them. They’re just upgraded versions of the former ones.
“Here,” he continued, “are completely new designs for the E or R robots. We’re not sure which series to give it to, but we’re leaning towards the E series. It’s, as you can see, a sharp kind of drill. Once it punctures into an enemy robot, it will release a device that will make the robot implode almost instantly.”
Siel pointed out, “Of course, they’ll have to get close enough to the Roaquen robots in order to do that.”
“Yes, we’ve considered that, but it shouldn’t be too hard for them to move closer in range. Once they are, it’s easier to deal with them this way.”
Siel nodded. “Sounds good. Go ahead and make them.”
“Okay, thank you. We’ll start the productivity as soon as possible.”
“Is there anything else I need to see?”
“Not much. These designs,” Darren said, pointing at the last few sheets of papers, “basically show where the newest weaponry creation could be placed. On the hands of the robots, and on the heels or toes.”
“Chose as you like. Keep in mind that they will weigh the robot down.”
“Very well.” Darren dipped his head once more. “Thank you for your time.” The R-series leader, who had been listening as he stood next to Darren, did the same.
Siel curtly nodded once; he turned towards the exit and headed out. He heard the door behind him open and close; footsteps turned into a different corridor and headed towards the direction of the mechanics wing. Either Darren or Gabriel is going to discuss with the mechanics head about the newest design, Siel guessed. He walked to the technician wing, which was next door to the mechanics wing. Inside, he found the head scientist and technician Hugh working on an R robot, which had been practically destroyed the past battle.
