If all goes according to plan, every single LR will side with me before the end of the battle, Siel thought.
His voice transmitter hissed when Gabe spoke through the one-to-one intercom. “Are you sure this will work?” he asked worriedly.
“You do your part. I’ll do mine.”
“But—”
“I’m counting on you, Gabriel. Don’t disappoint me.”
“…I’ll try my best.”
“Good. Now get ready.”
“Will do.” Gabe signed out, continuing whatever he was doing in some room of the battle complex. Siel gazed at the mini map in front of him. No sight of Roaquen troops yet… this battle will get risky. The tide can turn with one move… I have to be careful and keep everything under my control. One wrong move ruins everything. Just one move.
He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. A fist knocked on the door, and his eyes opened to verify the person before vocally allowing him entrance. Caleb entered the room. “Everything is as ready as can be. Hugh said that he spotted them heading our way. They should be here soon.”
Siel opened a white screen on the black dashboard in front of him and began typing away. Caleb watched him from the sideline, giving him enough space for privacy. “I have access to a certain Roaquen soldier’s robot,” Siel explained as his fingers flew over the dashboard keys. “In just a minute, I’ll have access to all the information in it so we’ll be able to follow their general positions and organization.”
“How did you manage to do that? I don’t think even Hugh is able to do something like that.”
“I’m sure Hugh can do it if he felt like it, but unfortunately he doesn’t do it just because.” As if I could hack into a Roaquen robot as easily as that. Of course Hugh lent a helping hand. “See here?” He gestured to the dashboard. Caleb leaned over his shoulder, examining the image of the maroon and dark grey robot. “I’ve located it… and here we are.” Information filled the screen, so Siel opened a few more screens on the dashboard. One of the screens showed the Roaquen soldier’s face. The young man’s eyes were narrowed in concentration, his eyes glued to something.
“Is that the Roaquen soldier?”
“Yes.” Siel briefly looked at the soldier’s deep blue eyes and then at the bandana wrapped around his head, which covered some of his light brown hair.
“By any chance, do you know him?”
“No.” He doesn’t even realize that his machine has been hacked. I have the power in the tops of my fingers to destroy him if I so desired.
Both of them heard someone say through the voice transmission, “E leader needed in the artillery room.”
“I’ll be there in a minute,” Caleb responded, lifting the small mic to his mouth and holding a button on the side downwards. He released the button then said, “I will be awaiting your orders.” He strode out of the room, the door sliding open. It slid back shut when he exited.
Just as he exited, a small group of red dots appeared on the mini map. Siel turned his attention to it, watching their formations change as they moved forward. They’ll be receiving a shock of their life. As they neared Saesa, they red dots slowed to a stop. Siel watched the screen that displayed the Roaquen soldier. “Where are they,” Siel saw his lips mutter. “Have they not noticed us yet?” The young man reached forward and pressed a button on his machine. Connecting to the Roaquen leaders…? Siel guessed.
