"Oh honey! There you are! Come, sit with me, we need to pick out a name!" The lady with the big green eyes smiled up to her new husband excitedly. He chuckled back and walks with her with his hand placed on her back to keep her steady. She waddled into the living room with her large belly. They both sit on the couch and look at each other expectantly. "How are we doing this? Are we picking out two boy names and two girl names?" The black haired young man stared to his wife thoughtfully. She considered this for a while and then shook her head. "I really like a lot of unisex names. Let's just pick out two of those, that way it doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. What do you think it'll be Erin?" She replies. He nodded and then spoke, "maybe it's a boy, Jamie." He said back to his wife. I looked at the elder and he shook his head. He looked back down at me. "What is it boy?" He said roughly. "It's a girl." I say promptly. I can feel it. "I know she is." He smiles down at me." I believe you're right. What will her name be?" He asks again. I shrug my shoulders. "You'll be watching her for eternity. I suggest you influence a good name for her." He says to me. I don't really understand. I'm too young to be given that responsibility. I've been taught well and quickly too. I'm young but I age strangely. I don't know what to name the small girl in this woman's stomach. I walk closer to them and observe their faces. They can't see me. I'm invisible to them. Only a few can see me because my elder lets them. I look down at her tummy. I'll just listen for a while to see what else they have in mind. The lady takes out her phone and begins to search names. The name needs to be different for the little girl. She'll be different, she'll be unique because she'll have me, and I'll talk with her and be with her forever. She'll be mine. The lady, the mother, lists off names. One after the other, I cringe. Kindal, London, Robin and Raven. And even Christian and Gabriel, I practically hissed at those. How do they find those names fitting for her, they are just ideas, but I didn't like any of them. The next batch was from the father. He still chose specific boy and girl names. The girls are the ones who mattered to me because that's what the little being was. Alysia, Ashley, Emma, Sarah, Catherine. I hated them all. They didn't match her. They searched for hours, different websites, random ideas, and nothing. I hated most, some got close, but weren't quite right. They went to sleep. At that time I just wanted her to be named, I knew it was soon that she'd be born. I tampered with their devices and found two names that would fit the girl. One I liked a lot and the other somewhat fitting. I chose the name I liked, not because of the meaning but the way it sounded. I left with the elder for a short while. The next morning the man and woman were sitting at the computer. He had coffee in his hand and she had tea. She scrolled around on the screen and I whispered the name to her, just to influence her a tad. "Rowan." That was all I needed. I smiled over to the parents of the girl. That was her. That's what I'd call her from now on. But how to tell her my name? When will she be able to even pronounce it? I should have a nickname. But what? I don't do nicknames. I'll think. This little creature will be mine to play with, to taunt and scare, to protect. Mine.
