It had been days since Elpida was taken by this random stranger. When they had left, he took her to a small cabin. It was surrounded by trees, blocking it from anyone's view. Once inside, he kept her in a small room. He never tied her up. He didn't need to. The inside of the door had no knob. The only window she could see was too small for even her to fit. Every morning and night she would get a simple meal of meat, cheese, bread and water.  Once a week she was aloud to go out into the main room to bath by herself. But once she was finished, she went back to the small room to sit in silence. She was living like an animal. Sleeping in a cramped room and only bathing once a week made her dirty and miserable.

She still hadn't learned the name of her captor. Not that she really needed to know. But she'd like to keep it in mind when she was finally able to escape and rip his limbs off one by one.

As she was thinking of a plan to get her self out, said captor came into the room with her meal and an extra item. A dress. A ballgown. It wan't poofy like the ones you would see royalty  wear. It was lavender on the petticoat, black designs covering the rest. The sleeves were long and flowed out at the end. On the back was a hood. She also saw it came with a necklace, a choker. She stared at it like it was made of thorns and weeds. "What is this for?"

Her captor smiled as he held the gown. "For you of course. You must wear it for our hosts this evening."

Elpida looked at, confusion written on her face. "Hosts? What do you mean?"

The man's smile faltered as he spoke. "We have been invited to a party. I assume you know what a party is, yes?" Elpida nodded, albeit reluctantly. "Good. Then you know you must look presentable."

He set the dress down on a small chair that sat in the corner. "The party is in three hours. You'll have to dress yourself of course. Until then." With that he left, shutting the door behind him. Elpida sat on her bed, the wood creaking and moaning as she did so. She continued to stare at the dress. Why would he want her to go to a party? So she can have the cruel reminder that he has her on a leash? Maybe this could be her chance. There would be a lot of party goers. If he got distracted, she could slip away, run back to Mikro and get his help. Or find some helpful guards. Her thoughts were interrupted when the man came back in. "Oh, you'll also have to bathe. Again."

The door was shut once more. Elpida stood with a long, exhausted sigh and prepared her things for a bath. She'll have to come up with the perfect plan before the party.

                                                                                            ~~~~~
Mikro quickly gathered his things before leaving the classroom. Tonight he was going to do it. He had everything packed. He was ready. He quickly ran back to his dorm, throwing his things down as he entered.
He strapped on a fairly large brown satchel, filled with essentials that he would need until he made it to the next town. He tied his weapons belt, which held a sword and ax, around his waist. He also hid small knives in his boots, low enough so no one could see them, but they wouldn't cut him as he walked. On his back he strapped a bow and quiver. He was never very good with them, but Elpida was. If he could find her, she would want a weapon.
He opened the door, and after checking that no one would notice him, he started walking. Students looked at him with confusion as he shoved past them, but gave it no second thought. He soon made it to the front gate.
He reached to open it when a deep voice stopped him. "You're the elf's friend right?" He turned around to see the large student that Elpida defeated. Mikro nodded. "Yeah. And?"
The large boy looked down at him. "She's missing right? You going to go get her?"
Mikro nodded again and made himself look taller. "Yeah I am. Are you trying to stop me?"
The boy shook his head no. "I want to come."
Mikro's eyes widened in surprise. "What? Why? She basically handed you your ass. Why do you want to find her."
The boy shrugged. "She's one of the best fighters I've seen. I mean you just said it yourself,she kicked my ass. I wanna bring her back here so she can teach me how to really fight without relying on my size."
Mikro looked at the ground in thought.  Having a big body would be helpful. Plus, if Mikro didn't have someone to talk to, he'd go crazy. He looked back up to the boy. "Ok. Fine. You can come. But don't slow me down. And you have to bring your own food."
The boy lifted a bigger bag than Mikro's. "Way ahead of you."
Mikro nodded once more. He opened the gate and held out his hand. "Mikro."
The boy's hand covered his as he shook it. "Psilos."
They slipped out, their figures fading away. The gate closed with a creak as students bustled to their next classes.
Hello friends! So a couple of things;
1. Do we want the best friend to be Elpida's love interest or someone else?
2. The 'P' in Psilos name is silent. Maybe it doesn't matter, but I know that I can't pronounce some names in books and it confuses me so!
3. To be honest, I need something dramatic to happen at the party and I have no friggin' idea what to do. Ideas?
4. Do you want me to even continue this book? I mean I will (eventually) but I don't know if anyone is reading it so.....
Yeah. Anyway, thank you! Also if anyone sees typos or misspelled words PLEASE let me know NICELY. Again, thank you.
