I reach for Alec, only to realize that he wasn't there. I sit up from my bed. I had fallen asleep after my conversation with Alec. I thought he would've gone to sleep too.

I head towards the security room and end up bumping into someone. I look up and see a smiling Izzy.

"Hey sleeping beauty." she says.

"Hey." I say smiling back.

We begin to walk together to the security room.

"I'm sorry." I say.

She shakes her head, "For what?"

I sigh, "For hardly telling you anything." I pause, "So much has happened in the past few days and I haven't included you in it."

She stops her steps and turns to me, "Evie, it's okay." she chuckles lightly, "It's just that you're my sister and we've always told each other everything."

I smile at her and she brings me into a hug.

"I told Alec." I said.

She pulls back, "Really?" she says smiling, "What did he say?"

"Well, he admitted that he also had feelings for me."

She groans, "Thank God! Do you know how long I've prayed for this?!"

I roll my eyes.

"Hey, where's your necklace? The one Magnus gave you."

I pull out my necklace from underneath my shirt, "Here."

"You should keep it out. You never know when demons are nearby." she says.

"Yeah well, I feel like Alec doesn't like seeing it. So I just put it underneath my shirt and leave the one he gave me on top."

We continue walking down the hallway and see Jace and Clary way too close to each other.

"-And what's the second rule?" Clary asks.

Izzy takes the Cup out of Clary's hand with her whip, "There's nothing a Shadowhunter can't do in heels."

I stand next to Alec, who's monitoring the security screen.

"Alec, what are you doing? You can stare at this monitor all you want, they need angel blood to get past the wards. You know that. No downworlder can come into the Institute." Jace assures.

"Not without an invite by a Shadowhunter." I add.

"Last I checked, Valentine is a Shadowhunter. The Cup is not safe here. We have to give it back to the Clave." Alec says.

"Give it back to the Clave? No. Not after everything we went through to get it." Clary argues.

"My brother is right. The Cup is extremely important." Izzy says.

"Are you agreeing with me?" Alec asks.

"I'm full of surprises."

"This Cup is the one chance I have at getting my mom back." Clary says.

"I agree with Clary. We can't give the Cup to the Clave, not now. We need it. It's our only bargaining chip." Jace says.

Clary begins, "Look, I know how powerful this Cup is. It has the power to create new Shadowhunters, control demons and even kill a mundane if they drank from it. But I promise you, I will not let that monster get his hands on it."
