It's been five years since the Lightwood's took me in. My relationship with them has grown so much, we're basically family now. Izzy became my parabatai, Jace is still cocky, but is a whole different person when it comes to missions. My love for Alec increases day by day, Izzy says I should tell him how I feel, but I doubt he feels the same.

I'm not intimidated by their skills anymore. I've learned to fight, thanks to Hodge and the endless competitions I have with Jace, Izzy and Alec.

We're going on a mission today. I'm laying on Izzy's bed, she's standing in front of the mirror, deciding which wig she'll wear.

"Which one do you think suits me better," Isabelle says.

"Definitely the platinum one, demons dig blondes" I respond. She smirks and looks towards me,

"Trying to impress someone, aren't we?"

"No," I laugh.

"I'm sure Alec will die when he sees you in that dress."

I then hear Alec's voice, "Isabelle, Evie let's go."

We walk out into the hallway,

"Hey there, big bro" Izzy says.

I let out a quiet, small chuckle and smile at him. He looks down at my dress, then to my chest where my necklace was and looked me in the eyes and smiled.

Flashback:

Hodge knocked me down on the floor. I was training, I tried and tried to knock Hodge down, but I was weak. He lowered his hand for me to grab, once I was up, I rubbed my back. Hodge broke the silence,

"You're not concentrating."

I look at him, "You're stronger than me Hodge, and bigger. I can't possibly knock you down."

"Yes you can, you just need to train harder. You've only been here for a year, you still have a lot to learn."

I cover my eyes with my hands.

"You know, you're mother knocked me down,"

I looked up at his eyes, "You knew my mother? My parents?"

He nodded, saying, "If your mother did it, so can you. And she was much smaller than me."

I laughed at this. "Thank you Hodge."

He smiled and hugged me, I hugged back.

After training, I went to take a shower. When I got out I changed into a pair of joggers and a black striped shirt, I sat by the balcony. I breathed in when I felt the breeze against my skin. During the year that I've been here, Izzy has been telling me that Alec isn't the same, that he acts different around me. Jace sees this too. They both tell me that Alec has shown feelings towards me that he hasn't expressed to anyone. I tell them they're insane.
