The Next Chapter (Aaron Carpenter Fanfiction)

Chapter 7

A nurse walks in as Roxanne and her family and I are talking and laughing over muffins.

"Good news, Roxanne will be released no later than 8 pm tonight. There will be a lot of medications she'll have to keep up with though and she'll have to pay extra attention to her cuts."

"Oh good! Thank you so much." Roxanne replies.

"Well perfect! We won't have any guilt about leaving tomorrow then!" Roxanne's mom says after the nurse leaves. "Our plane leaves at 4 pm though. It's 12 now so we'll go back to the hotel at 2:00 to get packed and situated at the airport." she adds.

"Okay mom, sounds good." Roxanne reassures.

We just hang out a little while longer in the hospital room, Jake, surprisingly, hardly even complains. We watch The Little Mermaid, Roxanne's favorite, which, oddly, was provided by Matt. After the movie, we talked for a while until it was finally time for them to get back to the hotel.

Around 2:30, the boys and Mahogany all came to the hospital. I told them to come by at 2:30 so that we wouldn't crowd Roxanne's parents too much. Matt comes in first with flowers for Roxanne.

"Good MORNING sleepy head! So glad you're awake." he practically yelled.

"Hi Matt! Come give me a hug!" Roxanne said. He hugged her lightly and moved next to me.

"She's still great even in a hospital bed." he whispers to me.

"I know. She's amazing." I say. Cameron and Nash come in next with balloons and a teddy bear, fighting to be the first one to hug Roxanne. Nash gets there first.

"So glad you're awake, Roxanna Banana." he says.

"Thanks, Nash Brown. I missed you." Cam is next up.

"Roooooooooooxanne! You didn't have to scare us like...that!" he badly sings to the tune of Roxanne by the police.

"Sorry Cam. You're the best." She says through laughs. Jack and Jack are in next. They have balloons as well.

"Nash beat us to the balloons." Jack G says as he wraps up Roxanne.

"Yeah, so pissed right now." says Jack J as he pushes Jack G out of the way.

"It's okay guys, it's the thought that counts!" Roxanne tells them. Hayes, Carter and Mahogany are in next.

"Good morning girl!" Hayes says and he hugs her.

"Hi bud, missed that cute face!" she says. He blushes.

"Awww you shouldn't have." he laughs as Carter swoops in to hug me.

"ROXANNE BABE GOOD MORNING!!!!!!" Mahogany says, running over to Roxanne and stopping short so she doesn't crush her.

"Still as beautiful as ever!" Mahogany says.

"You too Lox. I miss you SO much you wouldn't believe it." Roxanne says.

"It was a tough week without my best friend!"

"It was tough fo-" she starts, but Trevor Moran bursts into the room,

"BABY," he loudly sings.

"I FEEL YOU PULL ME TO THE DARK SIDE." he and Roxanne sing together, a usual thing coming from the two of them. He runs up and hugs her.

"What are you doing here Trev?!"

"I couldn't bear to think about you being in the hospital and not come see you! And I MISSED that beautiful voice!" Trevor says.

"I'm SO glad you're here, Trev. It means the world to have my favorite person from LA here!"

"Where's Shawn?" I ask.

"Oh he went to lunch with this new GIRL he met last weekend. He should be here soon though. He might bring her if they hit it off today." Nash says, smirking. Roxanne and Trevor start singing again and everyone joins in. I send Shawn a text:

-Before you come here can you go to my hotel room and grab the Tiffany box in the drawer of my nightstand?

-Sure man. I'll tell them I'm Matt and i lost my key. It'll be in a bag from the coffee shop me and Layla went to today.

-Thanks bro you're a lifesaver. On your way?

-Yep. At the hotel now.

-See you later man.

Shawn shows up 20 minutes later and hands me the bag.

"What's that?" Roxanne asks.

"Oh I asked Shawn to get me a muffin at that coffee place he went to." I quickly say. I go to the bathroom, bag in tow, and take the box out. I check the ring. It's a silver promise ring, a small silver flower in the middle with an amethyst in the middle, Roxanne's birth stone. On the inside it says "forever" and on the opposite side "always".
