Chapter 6

-Roxanne's Point of View-

Ten minutes after Aaron puts down my bed railing, my mom rushes in with my brother in tow.

"Sis! You're awake! You scared me to death but I knew you would wake up! I just knew it!" she quickly says. "We just had to bring Jake with us."

"Hi, mom."

"Hi." she sighs.

"Where's dad?" I ask

"Oh he's in the restroom he should be out an-"

"GOOD MORNING SIS!" my dad bellows, cutting my mom off.

"Hi daddy!" I say a little quieter. He comes over and hugs me.

"I missed you sister."

"Missed you too, dad."

"Sadly we're leaving in a few hours to go back to Ohio. I have GOT to get back to work." mom says.

"Okay, can you guys get me some breakfast? I'm starved."

"What do you want honey?"

"A blueberry muffin and a Nakéd Green Machine please!" I say. My parents and brother rush out to a grocery store down the street.

"Aaron come here I want a hug!" I say as soon as they leave, arms outstretched.

"Hi baby. I know I've already said this but I'm so happy you're awake so I can hug you tight again."

"Why didn't you talk at all when my parents showed up?"

"Well, I already got my intimacy and time with you after you woke up. I wanted to give them space. Plus I don' want to be all over you in front of them. Especially your dad."

"He really likes you, you know."

"Really?"

"Yes. You're the only guy he's ever warmed up to."

"That makes me feel so much better."

"I love you so much."

"I love you too. Lox said she'll be here soon to see you! So did all the other boys of course. But Mahogany was the happiest. They'll be here in about an hour."

"YAY! I miss them so much."

"They miss you too." Aaron kisses me, pulls up a stool and lays his head on my stomach like he always does. I run my fingers through his hair and along his face as he kisses my fingers.

"I love you." I whisper.

-Aaron's Point of View-

I'm laying my head on Roxanne's stomach when her parents get back from the store with way more food than she asked for.

"I know it's a lot but we couldn't help it!" her mom says.

"Oh mom it's okay." Roxanne answers.

"We got you shampoo, toothpaste, and other toiletries too so you can shower." her mom says.

"Well, I really have to pee and I haven't gotten up from this bed in 8 days. Aaron, spot me just in case?"

"Sure babe." I rush over. She holds my arms as she gets up, I pull her IV along with my other hand. Her knees almost give out, but she steadies herself and slowly walks to the bathroom. I open the door for her and roll her IV just inside the bathroom. The toiletries are already in the shower and on the sink. She kisses my cheek and shuts the door behind her.

"You two really are good together." her mom tells me.

"Thank you ma'am. I really do care about her." I'm careful not to say love in front of her parents.

"I can tell." her mom says.

"Thank you for staying here with her. It shows a lot about you and, as much as I hate to admit it, I know she wouldn't want anyone else here." her dad says.

"Thank you sir." I say. I hear Roxanne brush her teeth and turn off the water. She opens up the door and holds out her hand to me. I tell her to hold her IV as I sweep her up and carry her to her bed, laying her down as gently as possible. She laughs the whole time as her parents smile at me.
