I sighed softly as I looked around at my childhood home. My sister, Bella and I were suppose to be staying in Forks with Charlie. "Our" dad. Bella and I were half sisters, but it didn't get in the way of how close we actually are. We consider each other full sisters and I consider Charlie a father just as Phil. I walked over to mom, smiling sympathetically at her. I hugged her tightly, shutting my eyes.
"Aww, are you gonna cry?" Bella teased as I felt myself tearing up.
"No." I said, wiping my tears as I pulled away from the hug.
Bella laughed softly as I nudged her. We all got into the car as I stared out the window. I quietly sighed to myself as I shook my head. Gosh, now I have to make new friends and everything. I'm probably gonna be that one loser that sits by themselves at lunch. Bella would probably make more friends than me. We stopped right in front of the airport as Bella and I looked at each other.
We got out as dad got out our luggage. I hugged mom one more time, squeezing her as tight as I could. I smiled slightly before hugging dad tightly too.
"Promise me you'll be safe." He sighed as he hugged back.
I laughed softly before nodding."Of course, dad."
I grabbed my luggage and walked into the airport with Bella.
Once we arrived at Forks I spotted Charlie's car before nudging Bella. We walked over to him, putting our stuff in the car. I got in the backseat and the car ride was almost filled with silence before Charlie spoke.
"Your hair's gotten longer." He said, glancing at Bella.
"I've cut it since the last time I saw you." She said.
Awkward.
"Must've grown out again." He muttered as I smiled softly.
"So dad, what's it like being Chief police?" I asked, trying to get rid of the tension.
"It's a nice job. Fun sometimes, but that means you two can't be breaking the laws." He said as I smiled softly.
"If anything, I'm the type of daughter who just stays in, reading on a Friday night." I said in defense.
"Just saying." He teased before pulling up to the house.
I smiled, getting out faster than Bella. I helped dad get the bags out of car before entering the house. It hadn't changed one bit, which I am thankful for. I walked up the stairs first, walking into my old room. I looked around, my eyes landing on the light blue sheets. The white walls and blue decor actually felt welcoming.
"Do you like it?" Dad asked, setting my bag down as I nodded.
"It's perfect." I smiled, putting the things in my hand down, hugging him.
He exited my room as I unfolded the sheets on my bed, putting the bed sheet on the bed before setting up the white and blue pillows at the head of my bed. I grabbed the duvet covers, bringing it up to the pillows and folding it over itself. I smiled at myself, beginning to unpack my stuff. I hung up my clothes and put notebooks and stuff on the desk a few inches away from my bed.
"Bella! Cammy!" I heard dad call out.
I raised my eyebrow, sticking my head out, turning my head towards Bella's room which was right across from mine. She shrugged as I walked downstairs, her following behind me. I walked outside to be greeted by Billy and Jacob. I smiled widely as I approached them.
