~ Twenty ~

"Hey, you wanna hang out with Edward and I today?" Bella asked before putting a spoonful of cereal in her mouth.

I nodded, pushing myself off the chair. "Just text dad, letting him know so he doesn't worry when he comes back." 

I jogged up the stairs before popping in my brown contacts. I walked into my room before quickly changing into a light brown knit sweater with some navy blue jeans. I bit on my lower lip before grabbing my phone. I let out a soft sigh, walking out of my room and knocking on Bella's door.

"Is it okay if I tell Embry? Just so he and I could talk?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, of course." She said with a soft laugh as I texted him.

Meet me in the woods? I know you'll smell my scent along with Bella's and Edward's. You said you wanted to talk, so let's talk. -Cammy x

I felt as if the weight on my shoulders vanish just a tiny bit. I heard Edward arrive before Bella opened her door. 

"He should be here any-" She started before Edward jumped into her window, landing quietly on his feet.

"Well hello to you too." She laughed softly before we all made our way downstairs.

"Hey, I invited Embry so he and I could talk. Please be nice." I said, turning to look at Edward.

"Fine." He sighed before we went out the back door, speeding into the woods, Bella on Edward's back.

We stopped at their meadow spot as they laid down. I paced back and forth, hitting my phone against my hand lightly.

"Calm down, he'll be here soon." Bella said as I huffed.

I sat next to them before hearing a rustling in the bushes. I quickly got onto my feet along with Edward as we stepped in front of Bella. My mood calmed as Embry emerged from the bushes, shirtless and his ripped jean shorts. 

"Embry." I breathed out before running to him and hugging him tightly.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding as he wrapped his arms tightly around me.

"Can we go somewhere more private? Where you and I could talk?" Embry asked as I nodded.

"No, absolutely not." Edward said from behind me, clearly getting protective.

"Edward, I'll be fine. I promise." I said softly, turning to face him.

Edward stared down Embry before nodding. 

"Fine." He said through his teeth.

"Let's go." I whispered as Embry intwined our fingers, leading me somewhere.

We continued walking as the surroundings became more and more familiar. 

"Wait." I said, stopping in my tracks, realizing that we were going to La Push Beach. 

"What?" He asked before forming his mouth into an 'o'.

"It's fine. You're technically not a part of the treaty. It's whatever, you're with me." He reassured as we walked onto the sand. 

We stopped right above the wet sand before sitting. I criss-crossed my legs, staring at my hands as I fiddled with my fingers. There was an awkward silence before he broke it.

"I'm sorry for how I reacted when I found out." He muttered as I looked over at him.

"Embry, it's fine. I totally understand." 

"I shouldn't have been such a jerk."

"I shouldn't have sprung it on you like that. Not visiting you for a while then show up a vampire." 

"Wait, did one of them change you?" He said, clenching his jaw.

"No. I was bitten by a vampire named Victoria. It's a long story." I sighed before seeing him relax.

"We have time."

"Well.." I said before explaining the whole story.

"...and then other vampire, Laurent, pushed her off me then mentioned James getting killed and how they have to run or they could be next. So by then the venom was spreading all over and they left. Then by the time Jasper found me, it was too late." I said, looking over at his shocked face.

I let out a laugh before he pulled me into a hug. I hugged back tightly, burying my neck in his chest. 

"I'm sorry you had to go through that. If I ever see that red-headed chick I am ripping her head off." He said before we heard a howl.

"I...I have to go." He sighed as we stood up.

"Are we okay now?" He asked softly, holding my hands in his. 

"Of course." I laughed before we hugged once more.

"I'll see you later." He said before jogging off. 

I smiled widely, the weight being lifted completely off my shoulders. I sped into the woods, running around before running back to the meadow.

"I take it you guys are okay now?" Bella smiled as I nodded.

"But you smell like wet dog now." Edward said, scrunching up his nose. 

"Yeah, but I got one of my best friend's back!" I exclaimed before jumping around.

"I'm glad." Edward chuckled before my phone rang.

I took it out of my pocket, seeing my dad's caller ID flash across the tiny screen. I raised my eyebrow before answering it. 

"Hey dad."

"Hey, Cam. Can you guys make sure you are home before sun down? I heard of recent animal attacks and I don't want to risk it." 

"Yeah, of course. We'll start over now."

"Okay. See you when I get home from work."

"See you." I said before hanging up the phone.

"We have to get going." I told them before we started walking again.

"Let's hunt before you go home so you don't get hungry anymore." Edward told me as we dropped Bella off at the front of the door.

"I'll be back soon." I said, hugging her tightly before Edward gave her a kiss on the lips.

"Be careful." She said before we both sped off. 

I laughed, running faster than him before stopping. I jumped up to a tree branch with him before hearing a deer making it's way below us. I smirked, nodding my head towards him. He rolled his eyes with a smile before jumping down and grabbing it. I jumped down next to him before we began to feed. Once we finished Edward decided to walk me home just so he knew I got home safe.

I pushed my hands into my pocket before looking over at him.

"Can you imagine if we all never met each other? Like if Bella and I never moved here?"

"I wouldn't mind never meeting you." He joked with a laugh as I pushed him lightly.

"I'm serious, you jerk." 

"I don't want to think about it. I finally found my mate and a new sister. It's pretty amazing." He smiled before stopping in front of my window.

"I just can't wait to see how this whole thing Alice saw plays out." He chuckled as I raised my eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Alice didn't tell you about her vision? With you and.." He trailed off as I gave him a puzzled look.

"With me and who? Edward, you're not making sense. Alice didn't tell me anything about a vision or anyth-"

"You and Jasper are going to fall in love."
