Chapter Two- Not so sneaky

"There." a voice whispered in the night "there." The open grass held little protection from above but it will suffice, easiest way in. "Now what?" hazel eyes glinted in the night at the other cat "Find leo." she replied "then report back." they were off.

Hollykit awoke the next day nestled between her mother's chest, berrykit laid close to her elbow and stormkit slept next to her belly. "I'm hungry mom." hollykit yawned as blackfur's ear twitched "fernbelly is on a hunting patrol, i'm sure he'll bring back some prey soon." hollykit yawned and nestled closer. The rattled of the branches from the entrance alerted hollykit "Prey?' she thought, hoping it was her father with a squirrel, she loved squirrel.

It wasn't of course but the cheerful voice of applekit told her who it was "thornfoot!" hollykit blinked she didn't even know she was up. Hollykit never truly understood thornfoot, he was rarely by the nursery though she didn't think rosepelt minded. "Thornfoot! Thornfoot! Are you going to stay with us today?" thornfoot let out a soft chuckle "No but I can stay just a little." he turned his gaze to rosepelt who was still sleeping. Lionkit slept in an upright position with his back to rosepelt. 'Weirdo' hollykit thought as she stared at the drooling lionkit. "First I have to patch up some holes in the nursery." he spoke again "want to help me?" applekit's eyes lit up "yes!" hollykit found it funny applekit was usually sarcastic but turned into something sweet when thornfoot showed up.

Applekit followed thornfoot out the den just then spottedpaw came in with a squirrel and a bird and waved her tail at hollykit, she dropped them in front blackfur and hollykit smiled "yay!" spottedpaw laughed as whiterose entered softly pawing rosepelt and giving her a mouse and a shrew. The slight movement awoken the surprisingly light sleeper lionkit. "Oh cool food!" lionkit said wiping the drool from his face, tinykit groaned and blinked his eyes open.

"Where's applekit?" tinykit yawned as hollykit looked up from taking a mouthful of prey and swallowed "thornfoot." she said and went back to eating. "Slow down hollykit." her mother scolded her. Berrykit suddenly appeared next to her "hey! Don't eat it all!" he whined joining hollykit. Stormpaw yawned and settle to sharing prey with blackfur.

"Can I go out?" hollykit ask licking her muzzle, blackfur looked up "just don't go far." she said as hollykit smiled and bounded outside. Lionkit noticed and gave a look to his mother who licked his forehead and followed. Hollykit could see applekit passing twigs to thornfoot as he patched small holes. The others filed out along with blackfur and rosepelt "I need to stretch my legs." blackfur said giving a luxurious stretch "i'll watch them." rosepelt purred as blackfur flicked her ear in gratitude as headed over to fernbelly, whiterose, and darkpaw sat.

Hollykit glanced at darkpaw, he never once came to visit and he was always grouchy "what is he an elder" she mumbled, she wouldn't believe darkpaw was half sibling to lionkit, tinykit, and applekit if the first leaders came down from starclan and told her. Suddenly she was batted by moss and switched her gaze to none other than lionkit. "Oh your so on!" she growled playfully.

"Oh I'm so scared!" lionkit said as hollykit tackled him and they tussled, rosepelt smiled watching the two "be careful now don't use claws either." she said. Lionkit was suddenly pinned by hollykit as she gave a triumphant ha! "I win!" she said as lionkit frowned "you got lucky!" at the moment applekit wanted to show rosepelt her handiwork causing rosepelt to lose attention of the kits in front her.

"A warrior knows when to admit defeat." stormkit intervened as berrykit sighed "I know its morning but how do you just have energy to argue." lionkit shoved hollykit off surprising her as he puffed his chest out " well when you're big and strong like me." lionkit said as hollykit rolled her eyes "more like fat!" lionkit glared at her "I'm faster than you!" tinykit noticed whiterose, stonefur, black fur going on a patrol and so did lionkit. "First one to catch up to the patrol wins! How about that?" hollykit glanced at the distracted rosepelt as berrykit jumped in "What if we get caught!"

"You don't have to come." lionkit chided towards berrykit, who gave a pout. Stormkit was about to retort when lionkit added "Leaders know their territory best right?" stormkit kept his muzzle close agreeing hesitantly. Berrykit glance away as tinykit laid his tail on his leg and berrykit sighed and agreed and so did tinykit.

"How we getting away?" tinykit piped up as applekit was proudly showed rosepelt something farther behind. Lionkit notice warriors were either off training or sharing tongue too consumed in their conversations. "Quietly and quickly!" lionkit said in a hushed voice stalking towards a bush, hollykit glanced at thornfoot who had his back to them and quickly ran into the bush.

"I can see you two." rosepelt meowed glancing at the kits. "Busted." berry and tinykit said.
