"Hello?" Terence's voice rang out when he picked up the phone.
"Hey." I said with an air of shame, just to convince the office lady that I felt bad.
"Taylor? Aren't you supposed to be in school?"
"I am in school. I got in trouble."
        "What did you do?"
"I got into a round of fistiecuffs." Terence and Will both chuckled slightly. I smiled.
        "Did You win?"
        "Yeah. He's knocked out."
        "Why do you sound disappointed?"
"I'm in the office. We were told to call our parents."
        "'We'?"
"Yeah, my friend and I. He joined in too."
"That's great. Are you suspended?" I mouthed the question to the office lady. she nodded, I turned away from her so she wouldn't see me grinning.
        "Yes." I told Terence.
"Ok, I'll come get you." He hung up. I was still grinning when I put the phone down. I knew I could count on my brother to understand. Specially when I explained the situation to him. I knew he would be proud of me.
My mother was an entirely different story. I knew I would have to face her eventually, but I was already making plans on how to stall that moment for as long as possible. Her and I both had work that day, meaning it wouldn't be incredibly difficult to avoid her, but we did share a house.
Will and I left the office, under the lady's request, and took seats in the chairs by the office door. We had propped the jock up in one of the chairs. He was still unconscious, I guess I kicked him harder than I meant to. Will and I spent our time talking about our successful day. We enjoyed the idea of two skinny, unathletic boys, beating up a fit, semi-body builder jock who was twice our size.
Most of all however, I liked the idea of having a super attractive friend who is more than willing to get kicked in the crotch for me. Will seemed to like the idea too. He had been smiling through both of our phone calls, and when the office lady scolded us for causing so much trouble on the first day.
After a little while, the gym coach came shuffling to the office. He frowned at the seemingly sleeping jock, but smiled slightly and winked at Will and I as he passed. Will and I both smiled up at him.
Not to long after that, Terence came walking up to us. He held himself up to his full height and walked with glowing pride. I had always envied his ability to be so confident in himself. He walked up to us and I stood up, returning the smile that he wore. Will stood up too and held his hand out to Terence.
"Will Oak." He sated as my brother took his hand.
"Terence," He stated. "So you're the boy who helped Taylor?"
        "That's right."
"And this is the boy?" Terence approached the jock and  frowned at him.
"Yes." My brother turned and beamed a brotherly smile at our bloody and swollen faces.
"Let's get you home." He told me and he started to walk toward the exit. I turned to Will.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I said.
"Can't wait. It was nice meeting you." He raised a hand to Terence took a piece of paper out of his pocket and slid it into my hand.
"Since I won't see you for another week." He smiled at me. I smiled back and felt myself blushing. I kind of doubt he could see it though because of my face being overwhelmed with the clashing colors of blue, purple, black, and red.
I followed after my brother. I happily climbed into the passenger side of his red Ford explorer. On the way to my house, I told Terence about the fight. I told him every last detail from my conversation with Will to the coach winking at us.
Terence said he was proud of me. He said it was a good thing for me to not hit first and that I was a truly respectable person for not only treating the coach with the respect he deserved, but also for helping the jock to the office as well. Even though my face was still sore and I could feel my lip stretch and split some more when I did, I couldn't help but smile as the boy who I had admired my entire life, told me I was admirable.
"So how's Andy?" I asked as the band on his left ring finger sparkled in the sun. Andy was short for Andromida. Andy suited her better.
"Oh I haven't told you yet? I could have sworn I did." He replied looking slightly confused.
        "Tell me what?"
        "Andy's pregnant!"
"Really? Terence that's great! How could you forget to tell me something like that?"
"Like I said, I thought I did. I know I told Mom. I figured she would have told you either way."
"Well she didn't. So I'm going to be an uncle?"
        "Yup."
         "How far along is she?"
"Just a couple of weeks." Terence and I sat there in blissful silence, both of us smiling like idiots, but Terence's smile was, as expected, much bigger than mine. He was clearly looking forward to being a father.
Personally, I thought that this kid, would be the luckiest child in the world. Terence had basically raised me from the time we were little. He has always been very good with children.
"So on the topic of greatness," Terence said smiling at me "How about that Will kid?" I started blushing.
"He's pretty cool." I replied trying to keep the cool that I never really had.
        "Just cool?"
"Well, he reads the same books as me and has the same opinions on them. He seems to have the same opinions as me on a lot of stuff actually, plus he got kicked in the crotch trying to help me, so I'm kind of obligated to like him."
"'Like'?" I started blushing even more.
"Yes like. If you're implying that I love him, I don't. I only just met him today and we didn't talk an incredible amount."
"Ever hear of love at first sight?" I punched him hard in the arm.
        "Shut up."
"Hey, don't punch the driver, I have a kid on the way!" He smiled at me and I smiled back, still blushing slightly.
I turned and looked out the window. I was surprised to find that I didn't feel lonely or sad, instead I felt successful and important. I turned my head to look out the windshield, I stared blankly with a sense of purpose. From the corner of my eye, I could see Terence still smiling, and the split in my lip got stretched open once again, as my smile widened.
