Will's point of veiw
I was at Taylor's house. He and I spent the entire day together at the mall. I thought it was great. I've started to think that maybe he likes me back, and I've started to like him even more.
He hung out at my house too. He met Manny, Herm, and my mother. He and I watched tv and ate ice cream. It seemed almost to good to be true.
At the mall, he said he was certain that some girl there liked him. I was flooded with jealousy. I asked him if he liked her back, and seemed almost repulsed by the idea. I could hardly contain my joy at that.
The next few days were pretty much the same. We would go do something, go to his house, and then go to my house after school hours. On Saturday, Taylor stayed the night at my house. He slept on thw couch of course.
The wounds on our faces started to heal and didn't look incredibly bad. The spaces below out eyes and beside our noses, were still red and slightly yellow. Other than that, we didn't appear to be banged up to bad.
It was Monday at last. Taylor and I were at school again. We sat beside each other in math. Both of us were only half paying attention. We were mostly, narrating the actions of the flamingos and flamingos on steroids.
"Looks like the president flamingo didn't like the president jock getting his butt kicked." I stated at the sight of the jock making out with some brunette while the blonde leader sulked nearby.
"Can you blame her? You and I are pretty lame people." Taylor said. He and I both smiled.
"That brunette seems to be ok with it though."
"I think she's just glad someone likes her. None of the other flamingos do."
"Yeah. Annabelle has that same shirt."
"You may have to burn it now."
"That's what I was thinking." The teacher dismissed us a little while later.
Taylor and I basically did the same thing in all of our other classes. We also played games on the computers and did basically no work at all.
On Friday, Taylor and I were at lunch, I got a tray full of food, while Taylor got a sandwich and a bottle of water. We sat at the same table that we sat at on the first day of school. Taylor sat on my right this time though. I decided this was the perfect time to summon all of my courage and ask him an important question.
"Hey, Taylor?" I started. No going back now.
       "Hmm?" He responded.
"My aunt's getting married tomorrow, and we are allowed to bring dates. Would you like to go with me?" I managed to say. My heart was pounding rapidly in my chest, my throat was dry, I was sweating slightly, and I felt as though I might puke, while waiting in silence for Taylor's answer.
He choked on his water when I asked. I didn't take that as a good sign.
        "What?" He asked.
"I just wanted to know if you would accompany me to my aunt's wedding." What ever confidence I had, was gone.
        "Like, as your date?"
"Yeah," He looked at me shocked. I realized I had made a mistake. "Sorry." I began to stand up. I felt Taylor's hand on my shoulder as he stopped me.
"I'm sorry. I was just, shocked. To say the least." He mumbled.
        "So...?"
        "I'd love to go."
        "Really?"
"Yes, of course." I felt overjoyed. I could hardly believe that any of it actually happened. I was certain that I would wake at any moment and find that it had been nothing more than a dream. But that moment never came.
Saturday rolled around quickly. I eagerly dressed that morning in a pair of black dress pants and a white, button up, dress shirt.
I was combing through my hair, when Manny walked into my room. She was wearing a lovely blue dress. With matching blue shoes. He hair was pulled into a neat ponytail and her usually black glasses were now white. Her lips were redder than usual and her cheeks were pinker. She did her make up.
"How do I look?" She asked.
"Good. How about me?" I replied.
"You look good too." I was fairly nervous.
"Do you think they'll like Taylor."
"They'll probably like him more than they'll like Blake." Blake was Manny's boyfriend.
        "Why bring him then?"
"Because he makes me happy. It doesn't matter what out family thinks of Taylor. He's a good kid, he basically lives here, and I haven't seen you this happy in a long time." She smiled at me as she tied a tie around my neck.
        "Ok. What time is it?"
        "Almost 7."
"Alright. Should we go pick up Blake and Taylor?"
"Yeah." Manny sat in the passenger side of my Durango. We decided to go to Blake's house first.
I pulled up in front of a light grey house and honked the horn of my car. Blake walked out a little while later. He had buzzed blonde hair with green eyes. He was wearing the same thing as me but had a blue tie instead of black. I frowned in disgust as he climbed into the backseat with Manny, but I was glad he was nice enough to take out his earrings.
I kept my focus on the road as I tried not to over hear Manny and Blake's conversation.
We got to Taylor's house and I honked the horn again, but I was a lot happier this time. My mood just increased even more as Taylor walked out of his house. He was wearing the same thing as me as well, he had a bow tie though. I smiled happily at him. He smiled back.
"You look good." I told him.
"Thanks. You look nice too." He told me. He was blushing quit a bit and it made me even happier.
"Having you ever been to a wedding before?"
"Not since I was little. I don't really remember it though."
        "Are you excited?"
"Of course I am. But for entirely selfish reasons." I smiled even more.
        "Me too." His smile widened.
"Wait a minute," I heard Blake say almost angrily. "Are you two, like, a couple?" He asked.
"Yes." Said Taylor. He didn't seem to like Blake's tone. I didn't either but I couldn't help but be happy.
"So you're gay?" Blake asked me.
        "That's right." I replied confidently.
        "Why?" I frowned.
"Why are you straight?" Taylor asked, irritated.
        "Because I like girls."
        "Why?"
"Because I'm normal. There's nothing wrong with me." Manny pushed Blake behind the drivers seat and had to try and shove Taylor back into his seat because Taylor was trying to lunge at Blake. While this was happening, I pulled over to the side of the road.
        "Get out." I stated firmly.
"What?" Blake asked. He knew I was talking to him.
        "Get out."
        "And do what?"
        "Walk."
        "To the lake?"
"No, back to your house." Manny stated.
        "What?" Blake asked again.
"Yup. We're through. Bye." Blake opened the door and climbed out. Manny Shi the door and I started driving again. The three of us sat in awkward, angry silence. I heard Manny sniffle slightly. She wasn't crying but she was, as expected, upset.
         "You ok?" I asked her.
        "Yeah." She responded.
"Thank you for that." Taylor told her. I looked at Taylor. He was smiling reassuringly at Manny and had a comforting hand on her knee.
"Of course," She smiled back. "He shouldn't have said that. There's nothing wrong with you guys. I should have listened to you in the first place Will."
"Like you told me. It doesn't matter what we think as long as he makes you happy." I told her. She looked at me.
"You make me happier than he did. I'd do anything for you Will." I smiled as I pulled into a parking spot. The wedding was set down by a lake.
I got out of the car and hugged Manny when she climbed out and the tree of us began to walk towards the lake. Taylor was on my right and I grabbed his hand. He tensed up slightly when I did but I saw him blush and smile. I smiled too.
People stared at Taylor and I. He smiled politely at them but I more frowned than smiled. I didn't like the way they looked at us.
I found my uncle Richard. He was a very accepting person when it came to me. He has always been a very important influence on me. I basically used to live at his and my aunt May's house. I walked up to him. He smiled warmly and pulled me into a hug.
"How have you been?" He asked me as he let me go.
"Good. How are you?" I asked.
"Pretty good. Who is this?" He looked a Taylor.
"This is my date. Taylor, this is my uncle Richard." Taylor shook uncle Richard's hand. They smiled at eachother. My aunt May walked over and I introduced her to Taylor. They started talking.
         "Your 17?" She asked.
         "Yes ma'am." Taylor replied.
"And you go to school with Will?"
        "Yes ma'am."
        "How do you like it?"
"I don't ma'am. I don't like the kids. With one exception." He looked at me for a second then turned his attention back to Aunt May.
"Did you get into a fight?" She asked him as her eyes fell over his bruised face.
         "Yes ma'am."
         "Did you guys win?"
         "Yes ma'am."
"Did you guys hit first?" She eyed me.
"No ma'am. We simply fought back."
"I like you." She smiled. Just then, a short man started ushering us into seats. Music began to play, telling us that the reception was starting.
