Act Like You Don't Know

This is my first time ever away from home. But every girl needs a change in her life and mine is now. I'm a 16 years old girl who knows what's best for her, I've been living in a box my whole life so why not at least live it up for the summer?

I mean I was always the kind of girl to stay at home. The one who helps others but never herself. People had this idea about me that I'm the "play it safe" girl. Well not anymore, I'm about to live the life I always wanted. You know? Just go some place where no one knows you, so you can be whoever you like to be.

"Your ticket please"
Says the lady holding her hand out for me to give her my ticket to LA.
I give it to her and head into the plane, where I instantly find my seat.
I love sitting next to the window, I always loved hights but now there is someone who is already sitting there so I can't. I'm not going to lie, this guy has incredibly nice hair but I have a feeling I've seen him before.
As soon as I slip into my seat he lifts his head up and well here he is, the one and only Grayson Dolan sitting right next to me.
"Hey" he says.
Hey? Grayson Dolan just said hey to me! Okay girl act cool.
"Hello"
"I'm Grayson"
"I'm Jen"
What the hell? Why am I acting like I don't already know him?
"Is this your first time on a plane?"
"Is it that obvious?" I laugh.
"Haha well your holding onto your shirt really tight so I thought you might be kind of scared"
"Yeah, this is actually my first time on a plane and I'm kind of worried"
"Nah don't worry, it's pretty cool"
"I feel this is not your first time travelling then?"
Stop with the lying Jen you know he travels! You know everything about him. Just tell him already!
"You're right! I travel a lot"

I try to speak but words don't seem to get out of my mouth.
I just manage to say:
"Well I'm going to take a nap. I'll see you when I wake up"
Stupid me.
"Okay" he says.

I finally wake up to a strong yet calm voice
"Hey, we're almost there"
"Ah thank you. I think I slept the whole way here"
"I wanted to wake you up but you just looked so cute sleeping"
What? Did I just hear THE Grayson Dolan saying I'm cute?
Well, he seems to notice my cheeks blushing so he tries to change the subject and offers me some gum.
"Thank you" I say
"You're welcome."
I can't help smiling at the thought of sitting next to him.
"What are you smiling for?"
Okay I should just tell him I know him already.
"It's because it's unreal"
"What's unreal" he asks.
"This! Being here"
"Why? I mean travelling is nice isn't it"
"No, I mean yes it is, but that's not what I'm talking about. The thing is I never thought I would actually meet.."
"We have arrived" A sound interrupts me.
"Thank you" Grayson tells the flight attendant. "Yeah what were you trying to say?"
"Never mind, I hope I'll see you again" I simply say.
"I hope so too"

As I step out of the plane, I bump into someone going right past me.
"Sorry!" He says, helping me regain my balance.
Shit! It's Ethan.
