My tears were soaked up by his fingertips as his hands made their way across my cheeks. And all of the bad erased by his lips on mine. All of the bad tasting memories were stolen by his tongue and replaced by the peppermint that always lingers between his lips. The ache in my stomach settled when his arms wrapped around me from behind and the words "your safe" was present.
