You broke up with me.
You came to my bay window and said the words I never wanted to hear. No explanation, no apologies, nothing. You didn't even come through my bay window. You just knocked and, once I opened it, you said we needed to break up. You didn't even give me a chance to react before you left.
Now, I'm just sitting here in the dark wondering why. Why did you break up with me? I thought we were okay. I thought nothing was wrong. I thought that I always could tell when something was bothering you, but I guess not. I guess I never knew you.
The funny thing is that they warned me not to get involved with you. You were the new bad boy in school who, as cliche as this sounds, everyone wanted to be with in some way or another. Everyone knew that you would hurt me, but I didn't want to believe them. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. I believed in you.
I trusted you - and look where that got me.
I can't believe it. We dated for almost a year, Lucas. We told each other we loved each other. We were the cliche bad boy and good girl relationship that only existed in some form of fiction. And you just dumped me in less than thirty seconds. If we were actual characters in fiction works, the readers would want to murder you for ruining their ship (you know I have some experience with the fangirl world so don't you dare doubt me. You would be dead by now).
I thought we were Riley and Lucas, the unstoppable power couple, but you know what they say; all good things must come to an end.
We came to an end. Goodbye, Lucas.
Riley.
