Charlie is a nice guy. He's sweet, caring, funny, and smart. He holds the door open for me, holds my hand as gently as a feather, and whispers sweet nothings in my ear. He's straightforward - he tells me exactly how he feels about me. He promise to never hurt me and I want to believe him. He's safe. That should be enough. He should be able to sweep me off my feet and make me the happiest girl alive. He should be able to make me forget all about the boy who tore my heart into pieces.

But he doesn't.

All the charm and everything he could give me is not enough. It's not enough to make me stop loving you. Lucas, I still love you and I am not ready to move on. I don't think I ever will be. I know I should, but I don't want to.

I love you and I know you still love me. It is just a matter of time before we end up back together. We're Riley Matthews and Lucas Friar. We're the most clichè couple you could ever have in real life and, just like in those teen fiction stories, we're supposed to end up together.

I believe that will all of my heart and I'm not giving up on you. I will never give up on us.

Love,
Riley
