The next few weeks went by fast. Dinah had spent her time trying not to think about Normani. It was hard, though. Dinah distracted herself by talking to Ally, who was becoming a good friend to her.

Dinah had met another couple that she liked to talk to. Their names were Lauren and Lucy. They have been friends since they were kids and had recently started dating. Dinah was happy for them, but couldn't help feeling jealous that she didn't have a love like that.

There was another girl, Camila. She was nice. Dinah didn't know her that well yet but they were starting to talk more. She liked Camila. She was literally a ball of sunshine. The only thing was that she seemed to be jealous of Lauren and Lucy. Dinah didn't know if it was because Camila and Lauren were also friends, or if there was something more.

Dinah never really talked to Normani. They would walk by each other every once in a while, but never said anything. On day Dinah accidentally bumped into her. She apologized, but Normani just said nothing and walked away. Dinah had to admit she was hurt by the other girl's cold response. What did I do wrong? Dinah though to herself, why am I so awkward around her?

The thing was that Dinah had always been very confident. Other girls would spend hours and money on makeup and hair products, but she didn't care about that stuff. She didn't like how society tells people to look a certain way. So she never fell into that trap. She loved herself. Yeah she had flaws, who doesn't? But she embraced them. Dinah knew she was beautiful and capable. Why didn't she think so around Normani?

The Polynesian girl had never felt this way before. With all her ex-boyfriends, she'd never give a damn what they thought of her. But all of a sudden she was insecure. But she promised herself she would not let it show on the outside. She was better than that. Dinah Jane Hanson was a strong woman.

Dinah didn't know what to think of herself anymore. Was she gay? Or is her mind just delusional. Maybe she's just intimidated by the other girl. Her long black hair, her smooth dark skin and her laugh that made you smile too. Or her voice that was sweet, Dinah could listen to her talk all day and never get bored...

Stop, dinah thought. She did not love Normani Kordei. And she would keep telling herself that until it was true.
