Dinah was released from the hospital on January 9th. Her memory was almost completely regained, and she was going to be okay. The trauma to her head had been severe, but after bandaging, and other procedures done by the neurologists, it would heal in time.
Dinah's arm was pretty badly broken. She would have to start physical therapy on Monday. It was the same day her girlfriend, whom she now remembered, had to go back to school. Dinah had the next week off to recover from the accident.
Normani and Dinah have been inseparable. Dinah's recovery had gone smoothly, and her girlfriend had been there every step of the way. There were times Dinah was ashamed to remember, like the fight they had when Dinah first got out of bed. She didn't believe she could do it, but Normani did. Dinah had yelled at her. But Normani was right. She was ready to start walking and moving again. If her girlfriend hadn't been there, Dinah was sure she would've given up.
Normani gave Dinah a huge card for Christmas with a gift card to her favorite store, as well as the best give she'd ever received:  floor tickets to see Beyoncé. The singer had been Dinah's idol for as long as she could remember. She cried when she opened the envelope with the tickets in it. She was going to see her role model, with her favorite person by her side.
The concert wasn't until April, so Dinah had plenty of time to recover. The two girls would fly to Chicago during spring break and stay in an extremely expensive hotel, and explore the city during the day. At seven in the evening, they would go see Beyoncé. Dinah had butterflies when she thought of the perfect day her girlfriend had planned for them.
-
Dinah had never been more glad to be home in her entire life. She'd always been the kind of person who liked to get out of the house, but she would never take the comfort of her own house for granted again.
When Dinah and her parents walked in, several people were already there, waiting for them.
"Welcome home Dinah!" A chorus of girls exclaimed. Dinah felt overwhelmed with excitement. She looked around and saw Lauren and her sister Taylor, Camila, Ally, Normani, and Dinah's friend from Santa Ana, Jade.
"Jade!" Dinah yelled, attempting to run to her old best friend.
"Dinner!" Jade referred to the girl with her childhood nickname, "Are you okay? I was so nervous when I found out you were hurt. What on earth were you doing that caused you to speed on ice?"
-
Normani could admit it. She felt threatened by this California chic Jade girl. She was gorgeous; perfectly tan skin, shiny light brown hair, and large, seductive brown eyes. Also jade had to her she was bisexual.
So yes, Normani was a bit jealous of the new girl. But she really wasn't new at all. Jade had known Dinah since they were in kindergarten. She was all over Dinah's walls in her room. Normani thought she was pretty when she first saw her, but at that point in time, she was in California and they were in New York. Now that she was visiting, it all seemed more real.
-
Dinah's welcome home party was amazing. She loved seeing all of her friends again, especially Jade. Dinah hadn't spoken to her in person since she'd moved last July. She started texting the California girl less since Normani had became her girlfriend. But now she was here. And she was quite gorgeous.
But Dinah was a faithful girlfriend. Jade would not get between her relationship with Normani. She was the one Dinah loved. Jade was her best friend. She was allowed to have both, right?
Then why did she feel so guilty having Jade stay at her house while she was in town?
