Why is it that love is always so perfect in the movies?
The prince and princess fall head over heels
I just stumble and fall, don't land softly with ease
I don't get to ride away on a bike with two wheels
They have big fancy castles and big horse drawn carriages
They have large poofy dresses and tuxedos in black
They have big fancy weddings and big fancy marriages
They have glass slippers and crowns and dresses with no backs
I have a small broke down house in the middle of nowhere
My ride around town is a broken down car
We're lucky to get a priest to sign us wedded
No big parties here, just a college students drunk at a bar
But maybe I'm fine with the way love is
I don't need lots of money or show biz
This glass slipper don't fit me
So give my regards to Mr. Disney
I'm good with love and the way my hair has frizz
So I'm no modern day Cinderella
I'll leave that to the other girls
I can be who I am in my beat up old sneaks
I don't need fancy diamonds or pearls
No fancy balls or gowns are wanted
I just need me, myself, and I
And if I ever stumble through love as well
I get my time to dance till morning is nigh
