My name is Uien, an orphan. Though I lived here at the orphanage for long years, no one did wanted to adopt me. I'm too old to be adopted now. So I was left here at the orphanage.

I'm turning sixteen today. But no one really cared about it. I just kept silent.

"Uien?" Makoto, an eight year old girl here. She was like my little sister for me, rarely when she gets adopted she suddenly runs away then goes back here in the orphanage.

"Makoto?"

"Tee~ Hee~" she brought a cupcake her with a candle lit up on her hand.

"Makoto...."

"Happy birthday Uien~! I hope good wishes come true for you." She cheerfully said while she gave me the cupcake.

"Makoto, you didn't have to..." looking at the cupcake again, she just usually bring up a cheerful smile to me.

"No don't worry, I spent my whole piggy bank just to buy you that for your birthday." My eyes widen surprise, she spent her money just to buy me a cupcake for my birthday. I felt so guilty about it.

"Makoto. Why? You didn't have to." She suddenly gave me a surprised look.

"What?! Uien! Your turning sixteen! This is important! Your turning as a noble fair maiden that every girl should be when their turning sixteen! This is so important," but... it's not like I would get any luck. Even if I'm turning sixteen, I can be stuck here at the orphanage. I always wished to be adopted by all my hopes just washed away.

"Maybe make a wish, maybe wish to get adopted!" She suggested.

"Makoto..." I patted her head, gave her a weak smile. Then as she smiled back. "It's not really going to work, but. I wish it would now," I blow the fire from the candle out. Makoto then claps at me then cheerfully giggling. With Makoto's support, she lifted my hopes up but I do know it will not work.

"Congratulations Uien! You are finally a teenager~!" She cheered, all I gave her is a smile.

"Well, Makoto, it's already late. You have to sleep before Mrs. Chiyoko sees you here."

"Ah, come on. Mrs. Chiyoko is nice, maybe I can sleep with you today~!"

"What?" I gave her a clueless expression.

"Please~! Can I sleep with you tonight!? Just one night~!" She pleaded, with all her charms. I rolled my eyes with a sigh in defeat.

"Okay, just one night."

"Yay~!" She jumped over my bed then covering her with my blanket.

"Goodnight Uien~!" She said while falling asleep.

"Uh... uhm... g-goodnight t-to you to M-Makoto." I see a smile on her face while she sleeps. I don't know why Makoto can possibly do that to me, being nice to me. She's really lucky that many people wanted to adopt her, she deserves to be adopted and be with her true family. But she decides to run away and run back here.

I thought to myself as I began to fall asleep. I began to relax my eyes and while I felt the warmth from Makoto's embrace.

"Uien! Uien! Uien!" Suddenly, my one eye was half open. Seeing Makoto was jumping at my bed.

"Makoto?"

"Mrs. Chiyoko wants to see you right away in her office! Quick! And better dress nicely, the guest are here!" She said pulling me out of my bed.

"Huh? Guest?"

At the office finally I came, I dressed up nicely in a violet polka dotted dress. Makoto knocked on the door and as she opens.
